In an interview at Salon.com, Elizabeth Edwards implies that her husband, the Silk Pony, is better at being a woman than Hillary is.
Hey, it’s a valid point and I’m not going to argue against her.
ELIZABETH EDWARDS: And sometimes you feel you have to behave as a man and not talk about women’s issues. I’m sympathetic — she wants to be commander in chief. But she’s just not as vocal a women’s advocate as I want to see. John is. And then she says, or maybe her supporters say, “Support me because I’m a woman,†and I want to say to her, “Well, then support me because I’m a woman.†The question is not so much how she campaigns — that’s theater. The question is, what does her campaign tell you about how she’ll govern? And I’m not convinced she’d be as good an advocate for women. She needs a rationale greater for her campaign than I’ve heard. When she announced her candidacy she said, “I’m in it to win it.†What is that? That’s not a rationale. Same with Senator Obama — I’ve yet to hear a rationale. John is extremely clear about what he can accomplish and why he’s the one to do it.
Or maybe Lizzy is simply implying that Johnny likes women more than Hillary…(you keep telling yourself that Lizzy). If it was so wrong for Ann Coulter to refer to Johnny as effeminate, why is it OK for Lizzy to portray Hillary as masculine?
Nothing like a good cat fight in the run-up to the Democratic primary…

I think Elizabeth Edwards better stay home tucked between the sheets with her good looking husband and let him deal with the politics. We don’t need her advice on our candidates and we don’t want it. Frankly, I am beginning to understand Edwards a little better. Mrs. Edwards appears to be running the campaign.
And, probably the bedroom too.
Well he’s all you’d ever want
He’s the kind they’d like to flaunt and take to dinner
Well he always knows his place
He’s got style, he’s got grace, he’s a winner.
He’s a Lady!
Whoa whoa whoa.
He’s a Lady!
Talkin’ about that little Lady
And the Lady is mine!
I’m sure it’s just a joke but of course she is talking about policy…
Yet for someone constantly criticizing the mainstream media you are certainly quick to follow their lead on political coverage that is more about haircuts and masculinity than qualifications and policy.
Let a million Maureen Dowds spring forth!
