Two Days in History: July 17 and July 18

Teddy Kennedy

Yesterday in history:

  • Ronald Reagan accepts Republican nomination for president (1980)

Today in history:

  • Ted Kennedy takes Mary Jo Kopechne for a drive, dumps her in a river, and leaves her to drown so he can sober-up and cover-up (1969)

Ronald Reagan — perhaps the greatest politicians in our country’s history — is now dead. Ted Kennedy — perhaps the worst man ever to be elected to political office — is still alive.

Some things just aren’t fair.

Massachusetts…thanks for continuing to elect two of the most despicable men in the entire Senate. Is there not a single honest and decent man in the entire Commonwealth that you could elect instead?

I can sort-of (though just barely) understand how you’ve been duped by John Kerry. But how-in-hell do you keep electing this degenerate? Do you really not care that your Senator killed a young woman, and then was too cowardly to own up to it? How do you get past that?

  2. The parents of Kopechne never talked. I assume this was a condition of the settlement. However, in similar cases, another family member not under a court decree will blab.

  3. Reminds me of the young man that Laura Bush killed. Sad mistakes.

  4. Right. Because running a stop sign and causing a fatal accident and then transported from the scene to a hospital is the same as getting drunk, driving off a bridge, abandoning the woman alive inside to drown, and not reporting the crime until hours later.

  5. Youthful indiscretions, both, just like W doing cocaine.

  6. Only a pwogressive would call abandoning someone to drown and die instead of seeking help a youthful discretion.

  7. You’ll have to direct me to the link of proof or an admission to President Bush having ever used cocaine.

I think you have him confused with Barack “Hell Yeah, I Snorted Coke! And Enjoyed the Hell Out of it” Obama.

  8. Ronald Reagan — perhaps the greatest politicians in our country’s history

Ha, ha, ha, he, he, he…..Robbie, you do make me laugh sometimes. No seriously, your funnier than Steve Martin playing the Banjo!

    Let me compose myself……

“Facts are stupid things.” –at the 1988 Republican National Convention, attempting to quote John Adams, who said, “Facts are stubborn things”

“Trees cause more pollution than automobiles.”

“We are trying to get unemployment to go up, and I think we’re going to succeed.”

“My name is Ronald Reagan. What’s yours?” –introducing himself after delivering a prep school commencement address. The individual responded, “I’m your son, Mike,” to which Reagan replied, “Oh, I didn’t recognize you.”

“What does an actor know about politics?” –criticizing Ed Asner for opposing American foreign policy.

It’s the way you tell them Robbie!

    :)

  9. Well, lets make a list side by side with Republicans and Democrats on each side, make a check mark next to the following and then you decide which “party” has those most low-lives of the human race;

    adultery
    pedophilia
    money laundering
    hedge funds
    prostitution
    lying
    drug abuse
    alcohol abuse
    physical attacks on others
    rape
    cheating on taxes
    serving in the military
    a.w.o.l
    “free-ride” due to family connections

So far, I would say it would be the Republicans who represent the lowest form of the human race.

Anyone want to disagree, provide proof.

It will and is much easier to provide proof that Democrats have a history of being better humans than Republicans.

    I say, “Save America…..Kill a Republican”

  10. Corey — first of all: check your medication levels; your current dosage doesn’t appear to be working.

Your theory is absurd and flawed.

Besides, any proof of “Who is a better human: Dem or Rep.) — at least in your case — is proved in your final statement.

To show how much better of a person you are than a Republican, you show it by advocating killing them?

Your a sick, sick, and twisted man, Corey. You’re undoubtedly one of those idiots who thinks that “White, conservative Christians” are more of a threat than Islamic terrorists.
