  1. It’s not often I get the chance to read unironic quotations from Dr. Strangelove…

  3. That’s a great picture and a beautiful baby. Pop looks like he has had some experience baby wrangling, too.

Man, don’t we know it. That’s true of this entire “Mission Accomplished” regime.

  5. “Ask the Sailor meeting his son for the first time what sacrifice means”

    Er, what?

Oh, sorry, are we playing the “Lets post pictures with a warm summer glow and a blurred edge with a totally sickening quotation to make us Americans feel better about ourselves” card?

How about “Ask the innocent people this Sailor has killed in an injust war what sacrifice means…..oh, sorry! You can’t! They died in their innocent beds as the hell raged around them!”.

Thats a little more fitting, and realistic!

  8. The next time I give a shit about what somebody from Europe — or anywhere not called the U.S.A — thinks about our country…

    Well…it’ll be the first time.

  9. I guess that’s one way to justify supporting policies that have earned the condemnation of roughly 75-85% of the world’s population.

  10. That’s right, pressy. No one should ever post or take a photo of a US service man holding their infant son. It should be banned because it offends leftards like you and the other moron.

  11. Oh, cool! I think you are about to get your sorry euroweenie ass banned. lol!

Why would I be banned? Do people get banned if they share an opinion that may not be that of the blog owner? I thought people where banned if they where continually offensive to other people viewing the board, pretty much like every pathetic comment that comes from your redneck mouth KMA.

You don’t ‘have’ to give a shit about anything outside of your own country if you ealy want to be that isolated Robbie. Personally, I think different viewpoints from different corners of the world is pretty healthy.

Do Americans think they own the world?

  12. I have seen people banned from this blog who make ad hominem attacks, like you did, against service men and women. Apparently, Robbie gave you a pass because he considers you beneath contempt. That you believe euroweenies and leftards find my comments offensive makes my day. Thanks!

  14. KMA-
I’m going to guess that you are the only person who interpreted my comment as refering to the baby in the photo rather than Robbie’s comment directly above my own…

Congratulations on the creative interpretation, though.

  15. Jon, I don’t know what country you’re from, but do you care what Pakistan thinks of your country? Or North Korea? Anyway, most hatred of America is completely irrational, because America has done more good for the world than any other country, empire, etc before it.

I believe it’s most important to do the right thing, not to be loved. Those on the left, such as yourself, strive to be loved more than to do the morally right thing, and that’s one reason why I am not a liberal. Keep in mind I am not saying this to attack you, I’m just laying out the differences as I see them between us.

Sure, everybody hates the top dog. Yet, I doubt that the 30% drop in the world’s opinion of our country between the years 2000 and 2004 was the result of random variation or mere jealousy. I would suggest it is a very rational distrust of US foreign policy.

  18. Hi Nazar,
Thanks for your comments, it’s good to see there are still people who are willing to converse in a polite manner.

I live in the UK, but was raised in the US for my first six or seven years. I don’t hate America. I think you guys have some fantastic people over there and some of your ways of working and living are pretty commendable.
My comments here are not meant as a one all encompassing view I have of your country, my comments are simply in reply to some of the more right wing natured opinions that are expressed here.

I am not sure America as a country has done more for this world than any empire before it.. Your short history simply doesn’t allow that in all fairness. If you are including your history pre the civil war, which would include the British, then I would agree with you as it is indeed the British nation that has done more good for this world than any other through history. Agreed, our impact at the moment, and since our colonies have been returning to habitational rule hasn’t been that great, and since 2000 we have probably had a negative impact on this planet of ours.

I think the attitude that comes out of some of America, that I see in almost every post on here, is that you guys think you are the righteous and that those who disagree with you are the enemy.
With your awesome firepower, I guess you don’t ‘have’ to even listen to another viewpoint throughout your whole existence (or at least until North Korea build enough weaponary to blow you out the water), but I think a little bit of tolerance evry now and again doesn’t go amiss.

There seems to be a never ending line of knee jerk reactions to situations that you guys see through ‘God Bless America’ rose tinted glasses.

  21. Hi ,
There are a few things that are being left out.
ALL countries have committed grave crimes against other nations
and of their own people. Murder , rape , mass destruction , and biological testing / warfare. Its reguardless of where people live / reside since we have our own viewpoints. The pictoral above states everything you all are saying to be true. It sucks to be away from family you have never seen, all the way to the point of where this sailor has wreaked havoc.

I find it interesting on how defensive people get when they have never been put in this situation as for where the ones who have are more volitile due to remembering how they were put into the situation from past events.

I believe this sailor was thinking of his family while performing duties for his country. The people who look at this picture and comment how bad this sailor has been and how he killed so many are single minded as well as shut out from outside realities.

Feel good he came home , feel good you are not the one they shot , and feel good that you are not in his shoes.

Thank You for reading this and taking the time.
