You know what the ironic thing is? CAIR doesn’t even represent most American muslims. That’s why their membership dropped drastically after 9/11, and that’s why most of their funding comes from foreign governments, not American muslims.

Our media, however, in its infinite wisdom, has decided that CAIR are the spokespeople for American muslims, and that’s why they get so much attention. They should just be ignored in favor of genuinely moderate muslim groups.

Most Muslims in America, and ALL the Muslims I’ve met or know (except ones I encountered while I was in the Army, and was trying to kill before they killed me) are damned fine people.

The Muslims who have corrupted and hijacked Islam for their own radical agenda — CAIR — are soul-less pieces of shit.

I would have as much right to say “fuck the USA”. However, I know more about the US than you do about Muslims so lets try again.

How about “fuck the US military”? Well, no, thats not fair…..they are defending a country that is taking the piss out of them but they are doing their job so I understand that.

your point, as always, is an oversimplification. i challenge you to tell me one thing that i didn’t already know regarding islam, better yet that would help me improve my view of muslims in general. your comparison of the kkk to wahabists is sketchy at best and it’s obvious to me you often overstate your understanding of christian & islamic fundamentals.
i’ll draw you some very clearly distinguishing contrasts that easily debunk your commonly asserted analogy.
-islamic principle suggests that a desirable afterlife is attained when ones good deeds outweigh their bad deeds where as christian heaven is only open to those whom genuinely repent for their sins (and according to the bible, everyone sins).
-what is the christian equivalent to a madrasa? islamic theocracies all over the world breed hate and intolerance while western (mostly christian cultures) do not, especially in america. from a very young age, children in many western cultures are force-fed tolerance and peaceful coexistence, as is evident from your spineless inability to stand for anything even when violent radicals want to kill you.
-as i’ve already pointed out to you american law punishes kkk members who behave violently while islamic terrorists, in many cultures are rewarded/praised (or more often than not, ignored) for their attacks on unarmed innocent civilians.
-a klansman’s separatist views are rooted in unfounded racial/ethnic assertions, while a wahabist’s view is rooted in violently strict religious interpretations.

as much as i hate to admit it, i can find some truth in your pessimism. like you, i’m not religious. however, i am extremely spiritual and though i don’t subscribe to a particular religion, i believe many who do give it a little more thought than you imply. did it ever occur to you that some may want to acknowledge the existence of something greater than themselves?

I’m sorry, Jonny. But your insinuation that I know “little about Islam” is utterly wrong.

I’m a rather learned man, and I’ve done several years worth of due diligence and study in my quest to understand Islam — both from it’s historical origins to it’s current incarnation.

The reason I hate Islam so much is precisely because I do know a lot about it.

I would have understood your comments more if you had taken the time to tell us which parts of Islam you don’t like.
Instead, your telling us that Islam as a whole needs to get fucked.

I was born a Catholic. I’m obviously not one now, however I know too much about it as a religion to simply say fuck it! Parts of it suck, other parts have a pretty good moral to tell.
I think the same can be said for Islam.

Come on now Adam, I really haven’t got time for to explain everything in my posts to you - try and work it out for yourself in future.
Just a hint on this one though, to help you along - Robbie is often eloquent in his posts and the subject matter he decides to blog about are pretty interesting to those who are able to talk and debate a subject rather than just saying ‘fuck it!’
That’s why I think Robbie has proved his intelect in most of the posts he has made, and that is why I was taken back to see such a flipant comment as ‘fuck islam’.
Whether I agree with Robbie or others at any one point is a different matter - the fact I can understand his view means he must be quite capable of educated debate.

This isn’t a ‘who knows more about Islam?’ competition.
I don’t get my kicks telling you something you don’t know about anything, especially religion.

Lets just say I was raised a Catholic, became a christian, took various other paths into other religious pratice, and more, until I realised they where for the most part nothing more than man made creations to help us get through this meaningless* life we would otherwise have to face.
(* and before you pick me up on that, I certainly don’t consider my life meaningless, although I understand it to be at best 80 years on a planet we call earth and nothing else).

All that said, morals are a good thing. That’s how I look at the bible now - a book of some pretty decent morals.

I don’t think you can sum up a whole history of a religious concept by simply saying ‘fuck it!’.

Jon — my whole point for saying “fuck Islam” was to express to CAIR that I can say “fuck Islam”, their threats be-damned.

Not all of Islam is bad, not all of it is “fuck Islam”-deserving.

CAIR thinks any criticism of Islam should be silenced. This was my way of telling them they are wrong.

Understood Robbie, but what CAIR thinks should mean jack shit to any intelligent people listening.

When I was 11, my dad once told me never to smoke because it would make my lips fall off -my reaction wasn’t to smoke a whole packet that night to prove him wrong!

There are always gonna be a lot of views floating around, and just because someone, or some group voice an opinion opposing yours, doesn’t mean you should change your being to simply throw shit back at them.

My mum always used to say ‘The truth will out’, or as my dad used to say, ‘Be true to yourself and fuck the rest!’
