The U.S. Border Patrol is looking for volunteers to finish building a border fence here in Texas.

The U.S. Border Patrol is asking for volunteers among its agents to help build fences on the U.S.-Mexico border, even as President Bush is withdrawing half the National Guard troops he sent there last year to build fences.

A memo circulated last week to Border Patrol sector chiefs said fence-building efforts on the Southwest border were going to fall short of Mr. Bush’s goal of finishing 70 miles in fiscal 2007, which ends Sept. 30, “so the Border Patrol is now going back into the fence-building business.”

Hell, I can be down to the border (Laredo) in about 3.5 hours. I’d give up a few weekends to go down there and help put up a wall. Just buy me lunch and maybe a couple of cold Shiner Bocks at the end of each day.

First of all 70-miles? The Texas border with Mexico is 1200 miles. I’m thinking that building a 70-mile wide section of fence will keep exactly 0 people who really want to sneak into our country from doing so.

However, if the government would like to seek volunteers to build a more extensive fence, I’d be more than happy to make the 4-hour drive down to Laredo and spend a few weekends helping build it.

This is just about the most stupid thing this president has ever done. OKAY, I will just add it to that long list of his stupid things! We need to have the Army Corps of Engr. get down to the border to build that darn fence, or contract out to the minuetmen to do it but it needs to be done now! Taking BP agents away from there duties will only allow more drugs and people to cross the borders!

Well, maybe that is his idea!

“Stupid is as stupid does”

And he doesn’t get any better

Ken

Ditto what Ken said. This is Bush’s job and he better well damn do it.

i think us americans need to shoot all who comes across or whoever trys to jump da fence its all our land not theres we should do watever it takes to secure america if they try to cross they get shot

Got something you want to say?
