This probably won’t get much media play — not when a current AND Republican Senator has been charged with rubbing his foot against the foot of an undercover officer in a public restroom:

Former state Sen. John Ford was sentenced today to 5 1/2 years in prison and two years of supervised release for his bribery conviction. . . . The Memphis Democrat, took the most bribe money by far of the Tennessee Waltz lawmakers and is the best known statewide. He is a member of one of Memphis’ most active political families and is the uncle of former congressman and U.S. Senate candidate Harold Ford Jr., who is currently chairman of the centrist Democratic Leadership Council.

Honestly, I’d rather have Senators acting creepy in the restroom (though I still contend that acting creepy in a restroom isn’t enough to be arresting people for — and even if Sen. Craig was soliciting sex, as long as it wasn’t for money (it wasn’t), and didn’t occur in the public men’s room (it never occurred at all),  trying to hook up with someone is not against the law) than taking bribes for their votes.

Actually, they nailed Craig for peeping and allowed him to plead out to disturbing the peace instead. He stood in front of the stall and peaked through the crack near the door at the officer for two minutes.

It probably won’t get much play because nobody’s ever heard of the guy.

Got something you want to say?
