Enough About Sen. Obama

On Friday, Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton appeared at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention to answer some questions.

It would seem that Hillary would have a significant disadvantage in this venue. Maybe next week they could appear at the National Association of Misandry Feminist Journalists to even things out a bit.

_______

Sen. Obama is trying to put to rest the “Is he Black enough” meme — which I agree should be put to rest. I now I concede the fact that, Yes, he is black enough (though I’m not quite sure what that means — maybe it really is a black thing).

Plus we can refocus on more important “Enough” questions. Such as:

  • Is Sen. Barack Obama experienced enough to be President? (answer: no, he’s not)
  • Is Sen. Obama savy enough to beat Sen. Clinton for the Democratic nomination? (answer: no, he’s not)
  • Does Sen. Obama have enough knowledge of foreign affairs to be our President during such a tumultuous time in history? (answer: no, he doesn’t)

___________

Would having a black President be a good or bad thing?

That seems to be an important question being asked — with the direct question being, “If elected, how/could Sen. Obama facilitate the debate on equality?”

I understand and agree with Sen. Obama’s response:

“The day I’m inaugurated, the racial dynamic of this country will change by some degree. You’ve got Michelle as first lady and Malia and Sasha running around the south lawn,” he said.

What followed was more than a pregnant pause — it was an imploding one — as the audience deliberated with a low hum. A black woman running 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. (because we know Michelle would run things) and two little black girls paying hide-and-seek in the presidential back yard.

“It changes how white children think about black children,” Obama added, “and changes how black children think about black children.”

He’s exactly right on that point. And in that regard (if not in ONLY that regard), a Sen. Obama presidency would be a good thing.

  1. Hello

Each and every day Barak Husein Obama shows that he does not have the experience to be president. He has not even tried to help his state or the nation being a senator from Illinois. He promised Illinois voters that he did not have higher levels to go to.

If he were to be president you would not believe the amount of 9-11’s we would have. He should really stop right now and go back to his regular job.

  2. Why is it that Barak Obama’s experience is questioned? How much foreign policy experience did George W. Bush have before he was elected? He had never been off the North American continent! What other experience did he possess? He spent 6 years as governor of a state with a weak chief executive! He has spent a few years running some oil businesses into the ground and was a part-time owner of a baseball team, yet no one questioned whether he had enough experience to be president.

  3. Fred, lots of people did, but since Bush’s resume was so much stronger than Clinton’s the argument never went far.

I do hope the Democrats nominate Obama, although I concede that he has less chance of beating Hillary than Phil Leotardo did of beating Tony. If Obama pulls ahead in the polls he’d better be careful at gas stations.

The good thing about a President Obama is that almost half the country won’t hate him.

Fair or unfair, Hillary engenders a lot of out right hatred, probably even more than Bush generates.

This country doesn’t need another 8 years with a President many of us hate.

We need a fresh face, which Obama is and Hillary most assuredly isn’t.

  4. Bush’s experience greater than Clinton’s? Aside from the fact that he was running against Vice President Gore- not anyone named Clinton- Bill Clinton had held public office since 1977.

As for Senator Clinton, if she becomes president I hope that the 30% of the country that thinks she’s a bitch will grow up- I’m not going to give a veto power to these crybabies. I’ll pick the best candidate regardless of what the dittoheads are going to bleat about.

  5. Preston, you’re right Bush ran against Gore, Clintons resume was very weak. Clinton had never held a private sector job. Clinton did live in England for while, but he spent his time there not inhaling grass, not going to class, and protesting against the United States. Oh, and he visited the Soviet Union as a guest of The Party.

Bush, on the other, was an Air Force fighter pilot and had a number of private and public sector jobs.

Preston, since Hillary disagrees with you on Iraq you must figure that she’s lying to sucker in us dumb dittoheads. I agree with you there.

  6. The worst thing that could happen to the Democratic Party is Hillary vs Obama and vice versa.

I had thought for a year that no Republican could win the Presidency but I’m beginning to change my mind and I’ll tell you why. This weekend I saw my 79 year old mother. She has never, and I mean never, voted for a Republican in her life, not even my own cousin who was a state senator in Wisconsin. She cannot stand Hillary Clinton and she doesn’t like Obama either. I asked her who she did like, expecting she’d say Edwards. She said Mitt Romney.

I nearly fell over. I mean I am still in shock.
