Did John Edwards recently stock up on Hypocrisy Off-sets?
The Breck Boy now wants Americans to sacrifice their SUVs (not all Americans, silly — just the ones who aren’t members of his country club). And the idiot thinks we’ll be glad and willing to do so:
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards told a labor group he would ask Americans to make a big sacrifice: their sport utility vehicles.
The former North Carolina senator told a forum by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, yesterday he thinks Americans are willing to sacrifice.
Edwards says Americans should be asked to drive more fuel efficient vehicles. He says he would ask them to give up SUVs.
If you try to take my SUV or force me to give up my right to choose what the hell I want to drive, you’d damn well better have taken away my guns first.
Because the moment one of Johnny’s boys comes down my driveway with a tow-truck (do they make hybrid tow-trucks yet?) to take my SUV, I’m going to start shooting (how’s that for “wiling to sacrifice” for you, Johnny?).
I’ll tell you what, Silk Pony — you start flying commercial everywhere you go, AND you and your lovely wife move into an average size home that uses an average (for two people) amount of energy to run (rather than the 28K sq ft cozy little cottage you currently call home), AND you give up your fleet of fancy cars (which I’ll bet dimes to nickels contains at least one SUV) — and maybe, just maybe, I’ll consider giving up my Land Rover.

Besides the house, he has a huge beach house, too. This do as I say, not as I do, b.s. is getting tiring. It was like Kerry and his 7-9 mansions, I think 11 suvs, private jet, lecturing people on conservation. Do these people lack the gene to recognize hypocracy in themselves?
Hey have you all forgotten…no one in congress plays by the same rules as the average Joe who pays for their salaries and pork barrel bills.
They live by a set of rules they created by and for themselves..and a completely different set for the rest of us…hello, anyone who thinks these people are in touch with average Americans is naive at best. We need to wake up in America and realize these people no more represent us than a great white shark represents an ant hill in the middle of the Ozarks.
We need to vote out every incumbent in every single election for the next 5 years no matter what the consequence to make the leaders get the message that they need to represent us and stop feeding at the trough of lobbyist and greed, or its bye bye to power. I don’t have faith that enough people have the backbone to do this. but unless we do…we will continue to get the same old thing have always gotten…. higher taxes and weak corrupt leaders.
This is gonna be self-regulating.. with higher fuel prices people want smaller more economic cars. If you can afford a Hummer, no problem – just pay a little extra for the environment.
