John Edwards is always preaching about there being Two Americas: The one he lives in, and the one that most everybody else lives in.
He claims to be a champion of the poor, all the while living in a 28K sq ft home, getting his campaign to pay for $400 haircuts, and charging $55K to give speeches on— get this — poverty.
But the latest hypocrisy coming from the Silk Pony is just too much:
As a presidential candidate, Democrat John Edwards has regularly attacked subprime lenders, particularly those that have filed foreclosure suits against victims of Hurricane Katrina. But as an investor, Mr. Edwards has ties to lenders foreclosing on Katrina victims.
The Wall Street Journal has identified 34 New Orleans homes whose owners have faced foreclosure suits from subprime-lending units of Fortress Investment Group LLC. Mr. Edwards has about $16 million invested in Fortress funds, according to a campaign aide who confirmed a more general Federal Election Commission report. Mr. Edwards worked for Fortress, a publicly held private-equity fund, from late 2005 through 2006.
Ouch.
So, Mr. Edwards is really, really concerned about Katrina victims losing their homes — but, “Hey somebody’s going to make a profit on it anyway. So why not me!?”

Bear in mind that this is not a case of a blind-trust investment choice, like the silly meme regarding Mitt Romney and stem-cell research. It’s not even about a personal investment choice supposedly made in ignorance. John Edwards worked for the owner of a subprime lender during 2005 and 2006, when Hurricane Katrina hit and the company initiated foreclosures on the victims. In fact, he made almost a half-million dollars advising Fortress while it purchased a second subprime lender during that period.
Nor did he cut all ties to Fortress after he stopped consulting for them. He invested half of his net worth in Fortress, according to the WSJ. Fortress employees have contributed $150,000 to his presidential campaign in the first two quarters of this year.

How could anybody vote for this guy (other than the really poor, uneducated people who don’t realize he ripped them off )?
Looks like the liberal Dems have very few choices on who to vote for President. Let’s take a look at the Damnocratic Presidential wannabes.
They have the ever inexperienced Obama I still need my mama, (we need to get out of Iraq today/I would declare war with Pakistan, our ally against Osama as soon as I am elected) [shudder, shudder] as their hero of the moment. Lots of confidence in this one.
Then there’s Billary, I mean Hillary Clinton (get 2 for 1 again as Prez/I’m not just some little woman, like Tammy Wynette, who will stand by her cheating man). Backtracks on political issues she endorsed (war with Iraq), withholds subpoenaed files for 2 years, that just suddenly appear on her dining room table one day, lies about EVERYTHING, wants to push Socialized medicine, when we see how poorly it works in the UK and Canada, etc. She has more buried skeletons in her closets than the whole state of New York’s cemeteries.
Comes now the great and wonderful John Edwards, exploiter of the poor and downtrodden. He’s putting his cancer ridden wife out in the forefront on the campaign trail to gain the sympathy vote. Let her attack Ann Coulter for telling the truth, while he sits back and smiles, keeping his dirty hands clean.
Let’s see, what or who is left on the left wing Liberal side for Presidential fodder. Not much. As far as I am concerned they are all mulch.
I can see where this country is heading under the liberalizing influences of Gollywood, the Civil Liberties Union, and the attacks on religion to weaken the moral fiber of the country. Unfortunately, the voices of reason are being drowned out by the raucous cries of the circling Liberal buzzards.
