Lizzy Edwards: Doing John’s Dirty Work

The Politico: has an interesting read about how Elizabeth Edwards is doing a lot of the dirty campaign work for her husband John.

It’s a good strategy — John doesn’t get into the muck, and who’s going to sling mud back at the “little lady battling cancer”?

Uh…Ok…I will:

She [Lizzy Edwards] goes on: “What do you hear these other people saying [about poverty]? Not one word. It’s fine to go give a speech on inequity. But I don’t for a minute think it’s what drives these other candidates. I don’t.”

Or, if you’re the Silk Pony, it’s fine to go give a speech on poverty. And we don’t even have to guess what drives him — we know: $55K per poverty speech.

Personally, Johnny, I think it’s rather weak to send your (sick) woman out to do your fighting. If you have something bad to say about Hillary or Obama, then grab a hold of your balls and say it yourself.

  1. She ambushed Ann Coulter big time with her partner in crime Chris Matthews. I don’t especially like Coulter, but that whole scene was taken out of context. Her continued hits on Obama and Clinton, however, aren’t doing her husband any favors and he’s apparently either not smart enough or too pussy whipped to realize it.

  2. Robbie-
It’s quite a web you’ve constructed there: if Rudy Giuliani tours the country making millions of dollars talking about how he spent as much time at Ground Zero as any of the first responders that’s both patriotic and a great example of the free market at work.

If John Edwards goes around the country to speak about poverty- and is freely paid by groups that want to hear him speak- that’s hypocrisy.

WTF? It’s almost like you don’t want anyone in this country with wealth or power to discuss inequity.

    Dianne-
Ann Coulter routinely slanders John Edwards and you view the response by the Edwards campaign as an “ambush”?

Chris Matthews routinely provides a forum on national television for Ann Coulter’s trash and this is an example of how he is in cahoots with John Edwards?

    I’ll respectfully disagree.

Wow, I’m reading the comments over on Huffpo about Tony Snow leaving. They are 100x worse than the Padilla comments. Simply disgusting. All the left can do is wish Snow a painful death. Compare that to the right’s comments about Liz Edwards illness. The left — what a bunch of pukes!

  4. KMA – read some of them. Literally almost made me sick to my stomach. Couldn’t go on.

  5. Preston – I saw the postanalysis of the Coulter quote and tho I can’t remember the details right now, she was responding to someone else’s comment in her usual offhand way and that, of course, wasn’t brought out. Matthews and Liz Edwards planned the call beforehand without notifying Coulter and that, my friend, is an ambush intended to buy press for the Edwards campaign.

Back to Kos, those people are despicable. How can you possibly defend them?

  6. Diane: I made the mistake of going back and reading more of the comments. Ugh. I can’t believe Huffington allows that crap to go on.
