Not all of Islam is bad, not all of it is “fuck Islam”-deserving.

CAIR thinks any criticism of Islam should be silenced. This was my way of telling them they are wrong.

Come on now Adam, I really haven’t got time for to explain everything in my posts to you – try and work it out for yourself in future.
Just a hint on this one though, to help you along – Robbie is often eloquent in his posts and the subject matter he decides to blog about are pretty interesting to those who are able to talk and debate a subject rather than just saying ‘fuck it!’
That’s why I think Robbie has proved his intelect in most of the posts he has made, and that is why I was taken back to see such a flipant comment as ‘fuck islam’.
Whether I agree with Robbie or others at any one point is a different matter – the fact I can understand his view means he must be quite capable of educated debate.

I haven’t a clue to what your knowledge of Islam is at this point Adam, so I doubt I can make it any better for you.

This isn’t a ‘who knows more about Islam?’ competition.
I don’t get my kicks telling you something you don’t know about anything, especially religion.

Lets just say I was raised a Catholic, became a christian, took various other paths into other religious pratice, and more, until I realised they where for the most part nothing more than man made creations to help us get through this meaningless* life we would otherwise have to face.
(* and before you pick me up on that, I certainly don’t consider my life meaningless, although I understand it to be at best 80 years on a planet we call earth and nothing else).

All that said, morals are a good thing. That’s how I look at the bible now – a book of some pretty decent morals.

I don’t think you can sum up a whole history of a religious concept by simply saying ‘fuck it!’.

I was born a Catholic. I’m obviously not one now, however I know too much about it as a religion to simply say fuck it! Parts of it suck, other parts have a pretty good moral to tell.
I think the same can be said for Islam.

I’m a rather learned man, and I’ve done several years worth of due diligence and study in my quest to understand Islam — both from it’s historical origins to it’s current incarnation.

The reason I hate Islam so much is precisely because I do know a lot about it.

i’ll draw you some very clearly distinguishing contrasts that easily debunk your commonly asserted analogy.
-islamic principle suggests that a desirable afterlife is attained when ones good deeds outweigh their bad deeds where as christian heaven is only open to those whom genuinely repent for their sins (and according to the bible, everyone sins).
-what is the christian equivalent to a madrasa? islamic theocracies all over the world breed hate and intolerance while western (mostly christian cultures) do not, especially in america. from a very young age, children in many western cultures are force-fed tolerance and peaceful coexistence, as is evident from your spineless inability to stand for anything even when violent radicals want to kill you.
-as i’ve already pointed out to you american law punishes kkk members who behave violently while islamic terrorists, in many cultures are rewarded/praised (or more often than not, ignored) for their attacks on unarmed innocent civilians.
-a klansman’s separatist views are rooted in unfounded racial/ethnic assertions, while a wahabist’s view is rooted in violently strict religious interpretations.

as much as i hate to admit it, i can find some truth in your pessimism. like you, i’m not religious. however, i am extremely spiritual and though i don’t subscribe to a particular religion, i believe many who do give it a little more thought than you imply. did it ever occur to you that some may want to acknowledge the existence of something greater than themselves?
