Mikal WattsPersonal injury trial lawyer Mikal Watts wants to be the Democratic challenger to Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) in the 2008 election.

The primary problem, though, is that Mr. Watts is the personification of the very worst stereotype of an ambulance-chasing personal injury trial lawyer.

As I’ve written previously about Mr. Watts, when cash is involved he cannot even be true to himself.

And now there’s this:

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Mikal Watts of San Antonio once tried to pressure a legal opponent into a $60 million personal injury lawsuit settlement by claiming he would have an advantage on appeal because of his firm’s “heavy” campaign financial support to an appellate court’s justices, “all of whom are good Democrats.”

[snip]

“This letter seems to confirm what everybody thinks about Texas justice. Very seldom is it this well-articulated,” said Craig McDonald of Texans for Public Justice, an organization that advocates for campaign finance reform. “It confirms the fact Texas courts are filled with politics.”

Which is really just business as usual in the Culture of Ethical Corruption that pervades the Democratic party.

How ugly is this for Mikal Watts? Even the King of the Koskids himself thinks it stinks:

I honestly have little interest in trashing Rick Noriega’s Democratic opponent in the Texas Senate primary, but this is bad.

Though I believe that Kos probably does have an interest in trashing Watts. Or, more specifically, Markos probably has a vested (or potentially vested) interest in promoting Watts’ opponent in the Democratic primary, Texas State Rep. Rick Noriega. Has Markos officially endorsed Noriega yet, or accepted any advertising or “consulting” dollars yet from the Noriega campaign? Or expects to?

One Response to “TX: Mikal Watts (D) Brags About The Purchased Influence of Democratic Judges”

Sounds like a real peach. yes another sellout who wants his chance to feed at the trough. and yeah he is right, the judges in this state and more importantly this country are completely political animals. the notion of a fair minded judge who interprets law, not makes it up for some political correct agenda, like the judges who overturn the peoples voice when they say no to gay marriage, or the judge who allowed immigrants in state tuition for college even though the people said no to that, seems like a myth in 2007…yeah judges who actually do what is best for this country and its future seem to be in very short supply in this modern world we live in.. and the worst thing of all about these self righteous traitors is we can’t even vote them out if they are on the federal level. yep, appointed for life. now how dumb is that?

wow, the founding fathers dropped the ball on that one. and they were pretty brilliant on most things.. so how do you feel about your “representative” government now? not sure about you, but I sure don’t feel represented in the least bit when I hear some of the decisions these “enlightened” judges make. actually makes me want to break out the dictionary and check the definition of enlightened.

Got something you want to say?
