PGR

There are seven Patriot Guard Rider missions this weekend here in Texas.

I wish there was someway to attend all of them, but I can only go to one on Saturday (I’ll be riding in honor of Cpl. William T. Warford III of Temple, TX tomorrow).

If you live in Texas near one of these towns and have never ridden with the PGR before, but would like to come out and show your support of a fallen soldier and his family/friends/community, then I would implore you to attend one of these missions.

You don’t have to ride a Harley Davidson; all makes and models are welcome. You don’t even have to ride a motorcycle; we have a lot of people who attend missions in their cages (cars and trucks). You don’t have to be a Veteran. All that’s required is:

The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

With so many funerals to support this weekend, we could really use your support to show these families and communities that we honor and appreciate the sacrifice they have made on our behalf.

The following Heroes will be laid to rest this weekend (click on the link for information on where and when you can join up with the PGR riders for each mission):

If you live in anther state, there are more than likely funerals and escort missions in your area, too. Check here for a list of confirmed missions, and please consider joining the PGR to help us “Stand for those who Stood for US”.

As someone on the PGR message board wrote: “We can’t all be HEROES because someone has to stand on the sides and salute as they go by.”
