Most of the former Marines I work with probably still have a pair of BDUs (or ACUs) hanging in their closet, with spit-shined boots sitting on the floor. Most of these guys look like they could put that uniform back on tomorrow and be deployed at a moments notice.

Apparently, punks like “lambert” over at Corrente don’t think as highly of our Veterans, and instead refers to the Eagles as the Gathering of Weasels and whines:
I’ve heard a lot of people say that Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-b-que is the best in the state. I think it would take more research and a few more visits (to judge their consistency) to say for sure — but after just one trip, I can tell you that it’s in deserves to be in the conversation, and it was definitely worth the 159-mile round trip ride.
But it ain’t Texas BBQ, where the cooking of meat is serious business bordering on religion. BBQ so good that people (like me) will drive half way across the state to find it.
I can understand how young kids can still be inspired by and — more accurately — hoodwinked by what has been called Rand’s “sophomoric” style. What I don’t understand is adults who still think this is great literature or great political ideology.
Somebody named “Scarecrow” over at Firedoglake writes an impassioned plea to Leftards about impeaching our President. To which Jules Crittenden responds:
If you live in Texas near one of these towns and have never ridden with the PGR before, but would like to come out and show your support of a fallen soldier and his family/friends/community, then I would implore you to attend one of these missions.
The article doesn’t mention it anywhere — but I’ll go ahead and ask the question: Do you think he might, just might be Muslim?

Let me make this real easy for you edukaters: under every circumstance and at all times, the US Flag should be permissible. Hell, it should be encouraged! If you want to make stupid policies about kids wearing the flags of other countries, well — by all means — have at it.
I’ll never forget the sickness in my stomach as I watched innocent men and women leaping from those burning buildings.
I’ll keep supporting the troops and their mission as long as General Petraeus says he needs to get the job done. And then I’ll support them some more.
