I don’t have much to say on the content of General Petraeus’ report to Congress on the status of affairs in Iraq.

To be honest, I haven’t read it (as most of you haven’t either).

I trust and believe in the decisions, integrity, and dedication to our nation from a career military General more than I do any single civilian alive.

And yes, that includes my own mother.

If Gen. Petraeus says the surge is working and that he needs more time, then I’ll take his word on it. If he says he can envision a window and timeframe for a draw-down, I’ll support that too.

I’ll keep supporting the troops and their mission as long as General Petraeus says he needs to get the job done. And then I’ll support them some more.

Unlike the despicable assholes of MoveOn.org, who think that General Petraeus is a liar and a traitor. Sadly, the Democrats who took money and are paid and bought for by MoveOn won’t be returning the money (since they’ve already had to guilted into returning the dirty Hsu money) that MoveOn has lined their coffers with.

Sometimes I feel as if I must be one of the few people left in America who is not a military expert.

For example, all sorts of politicians have been talking about all sorts of ways we ought to “redeploy” our troops. The closest I ever came to deploying troops was marching a company of Marines to the mess hall for chow.

But people who have never even put on a uniform are confident that they know how our troops should be redeployed. Maybe this is one of the fruits of the “self-esteem” that is taught in our schools instead of education.

The biggest flurry of amateur military pronouncements occurred just before General David Petraeus testified before Congress on the situation in Iraq. Many Democrats publicly dismissed what he said before he said it, and some implied that he was a liar before he opened his mouth.
