In American, it’s illegal to fly another country’s flag above the American Flag — and yes, that means the Mexican flag too.

However, that didn’t stop a Mexican business owner near downtown Reno, NV from doing just that. But thankfully we have men like Jim Broussard:

I’m Jim Broussard. And I took this flag down in honor of my country…with a knife from the United States Army. I’m a veteran. I’m not going to see this done to my country.

Amen, brother!

I love the way those Mexicans just stand there and watch — like one of them was going to say anything to the due with the big ass knife!

If I ever see a Mexican flag flying over our Stars and Bars, I’ll cut it down and take that American Flag with me, too. We need a lot more of this — good patriotic people taking our country back.

We have room for but one flag, the American Flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language…and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people. — Theodore Roosevelt, 1907

Nevada ACLU Releases Statement on Mexican Flag Flying Over American Flag.

Fuck the ACLU.

Every noticed how Americans are supposed to be on pins and needles when we travel least we offend the delicate sensibilities of other counties? We are forever lectured about being ‘Ugly Americans’.

Yet people from all over the world are free to come over here and enjoy freedom they don’t have at home by insulting the United States. And we are supposed to walk on pins and needles least we offend their delicate sensibilities.

It turns my stomach.

I’ll second that Fuck the ACLU !!!!

The ACLU is wrong about this.

Technically, the ACLU is right. But fuck them anyway.

What pins and needles?

When you visit us and enjoy our freedom we will even speak your language..

About the flags: well… grow up! What would you do when there was an Irish flag on top uh?

The guy should have talked to the owner of the store first. That’s it. No more, no less. He didn’t do that, and all you here are supporting the big beard with the big knife..

You just love to fight don’t you? Or rather let someone else fight for you..

Henh…if they were intimidated by Big Jim and his knife, they danged sure wouldn’t want to see my favorite blade.
As for the ACLU being technically right about anything, they are still the American Criminals Lawyer Union. Effem!

The guy who cut down the flag is a thief, and should be prosecuted for armed robbery.

The U.S. Code is not a law, but a guideline, and NV has no law prohibiting flags displayed in that manner.

I don’t like that, but those are facts.

As well as the fact that this moron just disgraced what the flag represents more than any bar owner did.

Lock his ass up.

I wholeheartedly agree with this action. We live in America not Mexico and I would see that the U.S flag is flown proudly over anyother flag if I have to cut the rest down myself!

If you don’t like it well then you are free to leave the country as well!

People who serve in the Armed Forces have much more respect for the American flag especially after serving in a combat zone and bleeding for it and it’s no surprise this was done by a vet. Society is growing soft with it’s political correctness and fear of offending everyone else.

I don’t mind people being proud of where they come from but they need to show it while respecting where they live now and if they can’t well then I’ll buy them a one way plane ticket back to where ever they came from.

In this the ACLU is talking about the First Amendment.

Robbie says:

Technically, the ACLU is right. But fuck them anyway.

So actually he says:

“Technically, the ACLU is right. But fuck the First Amendment anyway.

I’m not surprised at all.

and I would see that the U.S flag is flown proudly over anyother flag if I have to cut the rest down myself!

The US top athletes will have a hard time the next Olympics to prevent every nut case cutting down all those flags flying above the US flag.

“As well as the fact that this moron just disgraced what the flag represents more than any bar owner did.”

I disagree…It is the sacrifices made in blood that give that vet the right to protect our flag from disgrace at the hands of baby raping, drunk driving, identity thieving, illegal alien scum. The vets witnessed that sacrifice first hand and not in the comfort of their living room watching the evening news eating their third square meal of the day. They can give testament to what that flag mean; what can you give nurse? The ones that died for that flag didn’t do it for amnesty for criminals, loss of sovereignty, or the invasion sponsored by an oligarchy from a foreign country. They did it so we can sit in this country and have the freedom to express our opinions in a forum like this without fear and reprisal. Its my thanks to each and everyone of those vets for their contributions and that includes this one especially.

If a nut case is what it takes to stand up and defend this nation than I am proud to be a nut case. Jacques have you ever served this nation in the Armed Forces? Countless vets have fought and died over the history of the U.S to make sure that the American flag is flown proudly over American soil.

I ask you this, have you ever been to a foreign country and see their national flag flown under the American flag on their own soil? I seriously doubt it so why would we allow it here?? Right right because our society is growing weak and doesn’t want to offend anyone.

God bless all of the vets and those currently serving for answer their nation’s call to duty!

The US top athletes will have a hard time the next Olympics to prevent every nut case cutting down all those flags flying above the US flag.

The the 2008 Olympic Games are being held in Beijing. The United States Flag Code — as described in title 4 of the United States Code: 4 U.S.C does not apply to the US Flag being flown outside of the United States.

The proper US Flag etiquette is applied within U.S. jurisdiction only. In other countries and places, local etiquette applies.

However, when the Olympic Games are held in the U.S., there is always the permanent Flag, or Flag of Honor, that is displayed in the stadium, arena, or field of play. The flags that are hoisted during the medal ceremony are not raised to a height greater than that of the Flag of Honor.

Some things are worth fighting and dieing for (despite the Left believing the exact opposite — that nothing is worth fighting or dieing for) —

And for me and nearly every Veteran and current Military person — the US Flag is one of those things. And I’m not speaking about the actual cloth of a particular Flag. But what that Flag stands for.

I can understand why somebody from Amsterdam doesn’t feel that way about their flag.

I can understand how those of you who have never spilled blood or watched your Brothers spill their blood for that Flag might not quite “get it”.

So, while it might be “breaking the law”, I’ll honor that flag code every time it needs defending. To include this one:

When a flag is so worn it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of the United States, it should be destroyed in a dignified manner, preferably by burning.

If a U.S. Flag is being flown on U.S. soil on a mast beneath the flag of another country, it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of the United States, and I’ll see to it that it is properly destroyed.

Sgt Maj Brad —

Thanks for your comments, and thanks for your service to our nation.

Lot’s of comments, but I have not much further to say except this:

- I’ve served in the Dutch Army (first drafted, then professional)
- The big beard should have talked with the store owner first.

There’s a good possibility that he (store owner) just didn’t know what kind of reactions the Mexican flag (on top) was causing.. Maybe he would have placed the US flag on top.

Did the store owner meant to ridicule the US flag (yeah exactly: what it stands for!), if so - then you have every reason to cut it down and burn it to give it a proper burial. The beard should have talked to him first!

But hey, this is the Texas (messy) way I think: shoot first, talk later..

- I’ve served in the Dutch Army (first drafted, then professional)

You’re to be commended for your service to your country — military service is (in my totally biased and humble opinion) the most honorable thing that a man can be a part of.

- The big beard should have talked with the store owner first.

There’s a very good chance that the biker didn’t know Spanish and that the Mexican flag owner didn’t speak English.

the most honorable thing that a man can be a part of.

Don’t know about that (most) but it was honorable, plus I had a great time, learned a lot. I met a lot of US Soldiers in Germany as well, I was stationed in Seedorf for a while - ‘Oktober Fest’ is outrageous (though can’t remember much of it..).

I find it so funny that people like the “nurse” above say….

lock him up for Armed Robbery!! [ "Robbery" is of a "person".
No "Robbery" was committed here --- idiot! ]

And funner that there is no comment about the
original offenders who committed “treason” for
disgracing our American Flag.

What occurred here was someone with HUGE BALLS defending our
country. I will be more than willing to sign personal complaints to have the Mexicans locked up for breaking Our Law!!

Hey Nurse—— Freedom isn’t Free!! Go back to your country and
leave ours alone!!

What the hell are some of the people on this list smoking? No flag should ever fly above the American flag in the borders of this country..anyone who thinks it should or is OK with that is just a freakin America hating, mind warped freak. all the people that shed blood for this country is symbolized in that flag.! for what? so some central and south Americans can come over here and crap all over our laws and traditions? they did not know that was wrong? well they might have known if we MADE them stand in line to become citizens and they had to study our history, learn out traditions, before we gave away the store to them. Just another reason illegals are so WRONG for us. what the hell kind of uncaring morons are we letting in the front door of this country? that flag is a symbol, not just some pretty thing flappin in the breeze. man this country is so screwed if this is what things are coming to. when people don’t even have an ounce of respect for the most basic symbol we have the flag, and then we have Americans who defend the dumb asses that put our flag under the mexican flag…don’t give me that free speech, they did not know, they should have talked, he should have reasoned with the bar owner bunch of liberal pablum. it is a matter of respect!!! and if these morons did not know not to do that, or worse did not care, then all the more reason we are stupid for not rioting in the streets to put a stop to this invasion. oh man things are worse than I thought they were…and I already think they are pretty damn pathetic

To: Vet. Jim Broussard,

You are wrong to cut down anothers flag. If you havent noticed our country is more than just one flag. I am willing to bet that if you traveled all over our country you will find many different flags hanging in different places. You just went to Reno where you might not find any hostile MEXICANS. If you say you want a confrontation I dare you to come and try to cut my MEXICAN flag that hangs over the red white and blue. Sir, not to make fun of you, WE WERE HERE FIRST! you call yourself a american patriot, but before you do i suggest you hit the history books and will find out we were robbed of all western/southern stated of the US. you make me laugh when you say no one would do anything when you were cutting down MY FLAG.

I DARE YOU TO COME CUT MINE DOWN and will find IMPOSSIBLE to do.

You are old. I am Young.

when you die.

we will still be putting our Mexican Flag over the US flag anyday.

David — if you live here in the United States and you fly a Mexican flag above the Stars and Stripes — they you are an asshole.

And an ungrateful and naive asshole at that.

“You” weren’t here before anybody, dickfuck. This is not Mexico. And it never will be again. Deal with it.

Why aren’t you in your beloved home country doing what you can to make it better? Is Mexico not really worth it to you? Or are you just a selfish asshole?

I’m going with the latter.

To David Tovanche:

Just let me know where you live in the USA and I’ll be happy to come visit with you about taking down your mexican flag that flies over the US flag. Just name the time and place.

Our country is NOT more than one flag. Our country is made up of many nationalities that all live under ONE flag, the US flag.

So please, David, name the time and place. You haven’t got the balls.

Losers, I’m with David. You are rednecks that can’t read a history book. Please learn you abc,s ,then read. The U. S. took more than 8 states from Mexico. My ancestors are buried under this soil. Thus, it is my country. You whitey

[Editor --- ¿Cómo se dice "Fuck you" en español, you ungrateful ignorant fuckstick?]

-David,

I find it funny how you all claim this “We were here first and had our land stolen from us” crap. Pick up a history book and you will find that the Mexican government invited northern whites to settle Texas land. Your government pretty much gave up the land due to their greed for wealth and prosperity. Your government prostituted out their land in hopes to bring wealthy northerners to serve their greedy appetite. I have read and studied Texas history extensively. Maybe you should give it a try.

Got something you want to say?
