Since Ezra Klein won’t box me for charity, I’ll once again strap on my cycling shoes and ride for charity in the BP MS 150 Bike Tour.
Here’s my easy and secure online e-donation link provided by the BP MS Society.
________
On April 12-13, 2008, I’m joining 12,999 other cyclists for the BP MS 150 bike ride from Houston to Austin. This two-day bike ride isn’t a race, but it does raise money in the race to find the cure for multiple sclerosis. Last year, 13,000 cyclists raised $11.4 million to help 17,000 Texans living with MS, a degenerative disease of the central nervous system. Researchers are making progress, but the cause and cure are still over the horizon.
And that’s why I saddle up to ride. With this journey, I’m helping the National Multiple Sclerosis Society fund research to find the cause, cure and treatment of MS. My participation also helps support services for people affected by MS. My personal fund-raising goal is $1000, supporting the ride’s 2008 goal of $12 million.
Please help me support my fellow Texans by making a one-time, tax-deductible donation. Please make your contribution to me using this easy and secure online e-donation link.
Any amount you feel comfortable giving is deeply appreciated. With your support, we can make a positive impact today in the lives of 17,000 men, women and children with multiple sclerosis.
________
In the 3+ years that I’ve been writing this blog, I’ve never once asked nor “blegged” for donations — I’m lucky that my advertising revenue more than covers the cost of running this virtual taco stand, and my day job more than pays the mortgage.
But now I’m asking for your help — please consider sponsoring me as I peddle from Houston to Austin to raise money for this important cause.
As the ride is still about 7 months away, I’ll re-post this plea a few more times after the first of the year to remind you!

I am interested when it will finish.
Lots and lots of different walks and bike rides over the world – to raising money to find treatment (not cure) for multiple sclerosis.
As a MS-er I never got any support etc. To my knowledge, no person with MS is getting any amount of collected funds.
Thanks anyway
