Martellus Bennett was heavily recruited to play football and basketball for the University of Texas.
He chose instead to go to Texas A&M University down in College Station. Which seems just about right after reading this genius quote from the kid:
“Overall, I just need to work on my game, period. I’m not as good as everybody thinks I am. When I look at myself on film, I think that I could be totally a lot better. There’s a lot of stuff I need to work on. I’m serious as AIDS and cancer. That’s how serious I am,” Bennett said.
As serious as AIDS and cancer? That’s the best analogy that he could come up with?
Reminds me of the player that said, “If it was not for football, I would not be playing football today.”

Unbelievable.
I like your blog a lot. It’s well written and entertaining. I had no idea the whole thing surrounding the Jena 6 was so corrupt. I’ll be visiting often now.
