Martellus BennettMartellus Bennett was heavily recruited to play football and basketball for the University of Texas.

He chose instead to go to Texas A&M University down in College Station. Which seems just about right after reading this genius quote from the kid:

“Overall, I just need to work on my game, period. I’m not as good as everybody thinks I am. When I look at myself on film, I think that I could be totally a lot better. There’s a lot of stuff I need to work on. I’m serious as AIDS and cancer. That’s how serious I am,” Bennett said.

As serious as AIDS and cancer? That’s the best analogy that he could come up with?

Reminds me of the player that said, “If it was not for football, I would not be playing football today.”

Unbelievable.

I like your blog a lot. It’s well written and entertaining. I had no idea the whole thing surrounding the Jena 6 was so corrupt. I’ll be visiting often now. :)

At tu he’d probably make the same quotes, just out on bail.

Thanks, Susan. Glad to have you (always glad to meet fellow Combat Medics from the Army).

Feel free to look around and share your thoughts…

I suspect it is simply the result of teenage culture and language being held to adult standards.

You’d like to think that the coaches could provide a finishing school for these kids to help them not make jackasses of themselves- but I suppose they need ever minute in a classroom just to keep from failing out…

I’m just poking fun at the Aggies…

Well, I’m just making fun of teenagers…

Got something you want to say?
