House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) flew into Austin on Monday — to praise the city on it’s “green” initiatives:

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., praised the steps that Austin has taken to curb energy consumption during a stop Monday at City Hall.

Pelosi — in town for a fundraiser at which she met some of the state’s top Democratic givers and thanked U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Austin, for his support — said that clean energy programs at the University of Texas and the City of Austin’s role in encouraging the use of hybrid vehicles made the city a model for the rest of the country.

Anybody else wish that politicians, former-politicians, and Hollywood actors/activists would stop jetting all over the country — stamping their enormous carbon footprint all over the place — telling the rest of us to “conserve” and “sacrifice”?

I wonder if Nancy flew into Austin on her Government-paid for C-32 (basically a Boeing 757)? The one that is supposed to be used for “official business”. Is fundraising really considered “official business”? If it is, it shouldn’t be.

Or maybe she flew in on her own private jet. I don’t know.

I’m just willing to bet she didn’t fly in on a commercial flight.

I won’t take that bet.
Considering who this thread is about, and the time of season, perhaps she relied on a simpler, more fabled mode of travel.
