Bill Quick at the Daily Pundit writes:
The two hottest issues in the country – the war on terror and immigration – favor the GOP – if the Grand Old Party has the cojones to take these issues and ride them to victory.
Bill’s right of course. On both of these issues, the Democrats are running on a platform of defeat:
- In the war on terror, the Democrats are for surrender and retreat. They do not have a plan for victory. They do not want a victory in Iraq. They want to surrender.
- On immigration, they want to surrender to the tidalwave of illegal immigration. They want amnesty. They want in-state tuition for the illegal immmigrant children of illegal immigrants parents. They want open-borders. They want sanctuary cities, and unfettered rights to drive our streets with U.S. driver’s licenses. They want illegals to be able to go about their business in America without concern or worry of being “harrassed” be immigration authorities.
On these two issues, the GOP is for victory:
- We want to win the war in Iraq and in Afghanistan against Islamofascism and Islamic terrorists.
- On immigration, we want to ensure there is no amnesty for the current crop of law breakers. We want to secure our borders. we want to enforce our current laws. We are not willing to back down just because it’s a tough problem.
Which actually sums up the Democratic response to almost anything difficult and worth fighting for.

Few people realize how important it is for the Republicans not to lose even a few Senate seats in ‘08. If they do, we will have an amnesty bill that will grant illegals everything they ever wanted and more. The war against terror will be lost and we will be fighting terrorists on our shores.
I can only hope that the Republican party will make this crystal clear to JQ Public sooner than later..

Right on target again. Let’s hope the republicans can hold things together. And of course I would vote for a repub over a dem but I am still looking for a strong candidate from whatever party. All the repubs I like are in the second tier. Not sure how this happens but the media has already crowned Rudy the repub candidate. Personally I am not for this guy. I think he is paper thin on conservative issues. I think he will fold and crumble the first time he is called upon to hold the conservative line. He is from new york for goodness sake, how conservative can he be, honestly! Of course I will take him over hillary anyday. but that’s like sayin I will take a cold over a heart attack. I keep hoping Hunter, Tancredo, Thompson, or even crazy Paul can rise to the top. I personally think most conservatives agree with this lot more but are afraid they can’t beat hillary..come on think positive.! I think any of these guys in a fair debate with equal time for each candidate could wipe the floor with her. Her base mainly comes from the super left. Those who want a nanny state and think the government can take care of them better than they can..what a joke. Social security anyone??? Yeah the government did a great job of managing that…let’s pray they don’t get their dirty fingers on our health care….please no.!
