More Americans not wanting to do their jobs…
- First we have the US diplomats who are refusing to serve in the US embassy in Baghdad — even though they swore an oath to serve wherever appointed.
- Now we have Hollywood writers threatening to walk off of their jobs because they want more money than they originally agreed to when they took the jobs.
______
I’ll make the same offer to the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers that I made to the State Department — I’ll take the job. I’ll walk across your picket lines. I’ll write your shows and commercials for you.
Hell, I watch so damned much television to begin with and I’m already a seasoned and exceptionally talented writer (even my undergraduate degree in Professional Writing says so).
So have your people contact my people, and I can be on a plane to Hollywood on Monday morning.

The WGA is striking to fight for residuals on their creative property that is sold via new media (aka itunes, other websites, etc). Currently they receive NO compensation whatsoever for their work that is sold via new media because studios say the technology is too new to work out compensation plans.
Oh, and in case you didn’t know, this is the first time the WGA has had a strike in over eighty years.
