Americans Are Disgusted with Democratic Congress

President Bush’s approval rating is pretty damned bad — hovering somewhere around 23% right now.

But he’s more than twice as popular as the Democratic-lead Congress — whose rating Americans don’t just rate in terms of disapproval, but now in terms of disgust:

Gallup’s latest survey turns up extensive evidence of deep public disgust with the performance of the Democratic majority in Congress. On six major issues, Gallup found solid majorities either disappointed or angry with the performance of the Democrats.

As Zogby notes:

But the Democrats who run Congress have an 11 percent job approval rating. Let’s just note that in my polling in 1995, O.J. Simpson was at 16 percent.

Ouch.

Despite the LameStream Media running interference for them, like this, they still are floundering in the polls.

It’s funny. Most Dems spin their poor ratings as being the “obstructionist” Republicans’ fault —

Of course, I guess I’d say the same thing about President Bush’s approval ratings — it’s those damn surrender-crats fault.

If Democrats weren’t trying to surrender to terrorists, obstruct every court or political appointee, and just knee-jerk opposing every single thing our President has attempted in the last 7 years since “stealing the elections” — shit, his ratings would probably be through the roof.

But of course, nothing is ever the fault of a Democrat — victimology is part of their doctrine.

It’s hilarious that you think that this is a vindication of the Republicans. If you look at the issues mentioned it is likely that some of the dissatisfied people want more aggressively liberal policies to come out of Congress.

What has Congress done with regard to changing war policy that isn’t simply Bush policy? What has Congress done about universal health care?

The Republican Congress was obstructing the President? Any examples? I can think of immigration and Harriet Miers- is that why Americans are angry?

I predicted that this would happen when talking to people in my immediate sphere of contact. The Dems, after winning the elections would inherit the negative aspects of the fallout of this war that George Bush plunged us into.

The Dems did not give any indication as to what they would do except to want to pull out the troops, thereby creating an even bigger problem if they could even force this course of action.

I think, more than anything, the Dems were bound to walk into this “straight-right” of fallout. Frankly, to my knowledge (and I could be wrong and would welcome if this were pointed out with links to information showing otherwise) I have not seen a credible plan to leave Iraq (and not face a total collapse and failure due to this pullout). Thomas Friedman’s predictions were right on when he was on the Oprah show before the war started… We do not have the will to make it through what it takes to get this job done… not the soliders but our government.

Shame on the Bush administration for getting us in this mess in the first place.
