According to the Rev Al Sharpton and the NAACP — if you are white, and three black thugs break into your home at 4:00 a.m. to rob you, and in the course of their burglary beat nearly to death one of your family members with a baseball bat…
IF you were to shoot two of the three black kids to death while defending your home and your family — well, then you are obviously a racist:
“This man had no business killing these boys,” Brown [The Rev. Amos Brown, head of the San Francisco chapter of the NAACP] said. “They were shot in the back. They had fled.”
The district attorney said that race played no part in the charges against Hughes and that the homeowner was spared prosecution because of evidence he was defending himself and his family, who were asleep when the assailants barged in at 4 a.m.
Edmonds’ stepson, Dale Lafferty, suffered brain damage from the baseball bat beating he took during the melee. The 19-year-old lives in a rehabilitation center and can no longer feed himself.
“I didn’t do anything wrong. All I did was defend my family and my children’s lives,” said Edmonds, 33. “I’m sad the kids are dead, I didn’t mean to kill them.”
He added: “Race has nothing to do with it other than this was a gang of black people who thought they were going to beat up this white family.”
Well—the only thing I would have done different than Edmonds is that I would have killed all three of those thugs. And if that makes me racist, then I guess I’m a racist.

Do I understand this right that the thugs attacked the man’s stepson with a baseball bat and beat him to the point of debilitating brain damage?
I can assure you I would have shot them given the chance as would most parents witnessing their kid being savagely beaten. I wouldn’t care what color they were, what sex they were or anything else.
Furthermore, I believe most minorities would feel the same way we do, Robbie. They’re parents too.
Sharpton has lost any credibility he might have had.
