what a terrible turn out and even worse results. yeah great job everyone who voted for 6 billion in new bonds, great job. Bravo, I hope you all like your big fat tax increase next year. And what about that tragically low turnout? If we are so lazy we can't even vote then we deserve the horrible laws and oppressive taxes we get. Hey lets not get off our fat butts and actually participate...hell dancin with the stars is on...please..we can't be bothered!!! I mean come on Texas. What happened to this great state? Seems like I am surrounded by whiners, couch potatoes and people who want the government to take care of them cradle to grave. Or worse yet people who actually want all this crap so now we all have to pay for it. Come on! the state and city is swimming in money. we have 10% more revenue than last year alone. How much do these greedy bureaucrats want? If we need to change the laws to us this surplus to pay for some of these things then lets change the laws...not get ourselves in deeper debt. we will have to pay tons of interest on these bonds. all of our property taxes will go thru the roof. are people too stupid to understand that? do they think the money magically appears from thin air? man, everyday I am astounded by either my fellow Texans lack of intelligence or abundance of apathy. maybe a little of both it seems. if you can't tell I voted against most of the bonds that wanted more of MY money. I also heard just today our amazing houston mayor White could not even muster the backbone to give us a half cent reduction in property taxes....a half friggin cent.!!!..man that guy tries to come across like a regular joe, but he is really a flaming liberal when it comes right down to taxes and immigration issues....not even a bloody half cent, can you believe that??? the people we have in office should be ashamed of themselves. and us for putting them there. did not vote for him either. hell I might as well go live on an island, nothing I want ever seems to come to pass. whats the point.

Henh, well the major item in our election won.
It is one of those moments, when no actually means yes.

Our most contentious vote is either for a six lane toll road through a park development, that will get Federal and State funding, and help relieve traffic from the congested NAFTA Freeway(IH-35), or against the toll road, and the city has to find the money to develop the expansive park project.
In this vote, a vote yes=no, while a vote no=yes. A recipe for controversy.

Wow- you have a lot more interesting things to vote for than I do...

I just get to choose between one corrupt judge or the other one and between my City Councilmember who didn't even live in my district and- gasp- a Republican.

I'll be throwing my vote away on the Republican.
