Outside the Lines — Live Radio Broadcast — Thug Life and Pro Sports

I’ve been invited to “appear” on Bob Parks‘ live radio program Outside the Wire this evening from 9:00–9:30 EST to discuss gang/thug life and its effect on pro sports.

_____

UPDATE IIHere’s the audio.

UPDATE — That went well.

I’ve called into a lot of talk radio shows — but you usually get less than a minute to offer your viewpoint. Tonight, Bob was generous enough to give me 30 minutes to discuss a single issue with him (we mostly focused on the death of Sean Taylor, the media and NFL response to the tragedy, and the relationship of the thug life and pro-sports in general).

In fact, the segments seemed to go well enough that afterwards, Mr. Parks was gracious enough to offer me the opportunity to lead a weekly segment on his radio program to discuss a topic of my choice — I’m supposed to meet with his producer this weekend to discuss the details. I’ll post more when I know.

Look out, Jeff Ward, I’m coming for you…

  3. Cool! Congrats, Robbie!

I can’t make any similar claim to fame, although once when I was 13 years old, I wrote an e-mail to Rush Limbaugh (my dad used to listen to him in the car), which he read on the air. Among other things he called me a “snot-nosed punk” and insisted that my father wrote the e-mail for me.
