We’ve been looking for a new dog for quite some time. We currently have two dogs…a 12-year old Beagle and a 4-year old Lab/Great Dane mix.

Angus the Great Dane

On Sunday I found an ad on Craig’s List from a family that had to move and couldn’t take their 7-month old Great Dane puppy with them so they were looking for a family to adopt their dog Angus.

We met the family yesterday so they could make sure that their puppy was going to a good home…and tonight my wife went and picked up the newest member of our family…

Meet Angus, a Black Great Dane puppy. I’m not sure how much he weighs right now, but he dwarfs our Lab/Dane (Otis), who weighs 116 lbs.

Nothing like a good hound-dog.
Of all the dogs I’ve had for friends, my old beagle was the best. Good natured, intelligent, affectionate, playful, and can go anywhere with you.
That new pup looks like a real ham-bone.

Nice looking dog. My ol’ gal (purebred chocolate lab) is 12 & a half and is starting to really show her age. She’s still goofy and happy, though, so we’ll keep on loving her.

Me likey wifey.

You have Angus. I have recently acquired Gabrielle. He is a little cocker spaniel puppy who is as adorable as hell and is worse than having a new baby in the house. At least the baby wears a diaper and poops in one place! I have begged him, walked him to the same place, praised him, and spanked his ass. My beautiful new house has been decorated with a bucket and mop at the ready …. grrrrr ….

He was a “surprise” birthday present and I do adore him, but I will be glad when he has grown up a bit.

Dianne, FYI, Gabrielle is a girls name, and Gabriel is a boys name.
No wonder he is making such a mess.

No2…you’re right, lol. Well, actually, his name is not official yet till I register him but I’ll be sure to spell it the right way.

I’d be happy to call him Madonna if he quit using my house for his bathroom.

Dianne, you also need to pronounce it correctly, as that is probably what is “pi**ing” him off!

A buddy of mine adopted a stray kitten that we found at a golf course driving range — he initially named the kitten Gabrielle. A few weeks later, when her testicles dropped, he re-named the kitten “Gabe”.

Henh…way to go “Gabe!”
A buddy of mine, retired USAF EOD(24yrs and still had all of his digits and limbs), and his wife went looking for a new kitty. His wife found one that just would not be ignored, and had quite a personality. When his wife decided that this kitty with the explosive personality would make a good friend, she looked at the cage number, so she could tell the people at the shelter which one she wanted. The kitty was in cage “C-4.” LOL!
That’s the kitties name, now.
What would we do without our little friends.

Got something you want to say?
