The Nutroots is having a potential meltdown because the Obama/Oprah MEGA RALLY this weekend is being held in a non-unionized stadium (oh my!).

I guess I didn’t realize that all Democratic voters were union members — or even union supporters.

Is it possible that there are some (or many) democratic voters who aren’t union members? And that there might be even more that…like the majority of Americans actually oppose unions?

There’s a reason that union membership is quickly declining in this country:

During 2006, 12.0 percent of employed wage and salary workers were union members, down from 12.5 percent a year earlier, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. The number of persons belonging to a union fell by 326,000 in 2006 to 15.4 million. The union membership rate has steadily declined from 20.1 percent in 1983, the first year for which comparable union data are available.

If union workers comprise only 12 percent of all employed workers in this country, it’s pretty safe to assume that they are not the majority of voters in either party. So why the hell should every single fucking event that a Democrat holds have to be run by a bunch of hand-out-for-a-payout union extortionists?

And only 14.5 percent of all black workers are union. Which means that Obama and Oprah (both of whom are black, by the way), should be able to have a rally at a venue that might have employees comprised of the other 85% of their non-unionized constituency…

Unions will eventually be a thing of the past. I’ll bet I even see their total demise in my lifetime.

What a coincidence…I just got my registration certificate back from the WGA West…

Robbie, sorry for the OT, but you have got to see this.
Gets me all weepy, it does.

Got something you want to say?
