Barack Obama might have Oprah pimping for him…but The Clintons have Andrew Young.

You might remember that yesterday Andrew Young said that Barack isn’t black enough (or at least that he’s not as black as The Clintons).

Now today Mr. Young is saying that Barack is “too young“.

Oprah might be good at selling books, but she’s getting her ass handed to her in the political arena by Mr. Young.

UPDATE — OTHERS:

  • Katharine Q. Seelye at The Caucus dubbed the event Oprahpalooza.
  • The Politico says that the event was “infused” with Messianic rhetoric.
  • Mark Silva at The Swamp shows that he doesn’t quite understand when to use the article a vs. an: Obama and Winfrey in S.C.: An historic turnout (use an before an unsounded h only [such as honest]; use a before all words beginning with a consonant, including a sounded h).

You really think so? I didn’t see Oprah’s endorsement but I have to believe that she comes off as more relevant than these types of critiques:

“It’s not a matter of being inexperienced. It’s a matter of being young,” Young said. “There’s a certain level of maturity … you’ve got to learn to take a certain amount of (expletive).”

I’m not saying this as an Obama supporter but Andrew Young’s critique just seems like a cranky old man.

I agree with Preston. And I saw a clip of Opra really turning Young’s arguments against him. She’s a good speaker.

I think Young is helping Obama with his nonsensical comments.

Obama is clearly unqualified, but he’s less unqualifed than Hillary or
the Silk Pony.

I hope he gets the nomination, just because if he did win I could watch the news without risking throwing up.

My comment about Oprah was more tongue-in-cheek than anything.

I like and respect Oprah quite a bit — I think she’s done a lot of good for a lot of people with her wealth and fame; I think she’s an honestly good and sincere person.

Which makes her unsuited for politics (unfortunately).

And Andrew Young is just another race hustler — though he doesn’t seem to be quite as good at it as some other more famous Reverends.

Got something you want to say?
