The wife started a new job today — the company is located in Houston, but she’ll be working from home full time (art director/graphic designer/web designer).

She had to go to Houston for this entire week for introductions and training — afterwards she’ll have to go to make the 3.5 hour drive to the Galleria area in Houston about once a month for meetings.

Which means that me and the mutts are on our own until she gets back:

Our mutts

I think we’ll be OK.

Henh.
I don’t know, Robbie.
Looks like a pretty rowdy bunch.

That looks like me after my favorite martini(s)!

How much does it cost to feed those three knuckleheads?

Quite a bit.

The Dane has special dietary requirements (Danes have a sensitive digestive system, and are very susceptible to bloat.

So we feed him a special organic dog food ($$) with several different supplements and digestive enzymes added. He eats about 10 cups per day.

We’ve put our Lab/Dane mix on the same diet.

The food and additives for the two big dogs runs about $150/month.

The Beagle is much easier — she gets about 2.5 cups of a store brand dog food…she costs us about $20/month to feed.

But yeah…it adds up.

Well, they do keep the burglars out, so in a way they earn their keep. And there is also the entertainment value they provide. They also provide a service by, ahem, breaking in your sofa. You know — making it extra comfy just for you. :)

Hey! How about some more action shots of these three lugs?

Got something you want to say?
