Alycia Lane not in her bikiniWith the possible exception of ALa at Blondesagacity, I’m convinced that there is just something seriously wrong with the people of Philadelphia

From the NYPost:

A foxy Philly anchorwoman - who once e-mailed sexy swimsuit snaps to a married TV talking head - became an anger woman today, calling a female cop a “dyke bitch” and slugging her in the face, law-enforcement sources said. The bizarro incident occurred when Alycia Lane, an Emmy Award-winning anchor for KYW-TV in Philadelphia, was riding in a cab with hunky radio DJ boyfriend Chris Booker and another couple when their taxi was stalled behind a slow-moving, unmarked police car, sources said…

…The petite, twice-divorced Lane, 35, then also got out of the cab and began snapping photos, getting right up into the face of the male cop doing most of the grilling, the sources said.

One of the three cops, a woman, told the TV anchor to back away, saying, “You can take pictures, but you have to step back,” the sources said.

That’s when Lane went nuts, shouting, “I don’t care that you’re a cop - dyke bitch!” the sources said.

Then she walloped the officer in the face, the sources said.

Lane - whose lawyer claimed she didn’t know the three were cops - was busted and taken to the 10th Precinct station house, where she was charged with assault.

Crying so hard that her makeup ran down her face, Lane was later taken to central booking for her arraignment last night.

The usually impeccably primped Lane, whose red-rimmed eyes were a sharp contrast to her sleek, black jacket and pants, was released on her own recognizance.

Then she shared a 30-second hug with a male pal.

Lane’s Madison Avenue lawyer, David Smith, said his client “absolutely never hit or made any derogatory comments to anyone.”

She didn’t know they were cops? So, it’s OK that she punched her if she thought she was were merely a slow-driving citizen?

So Ms. Lane is claiming the three officers are lying about her verbal (and homophobic) and physical attacks on the officers?

Another instance of someone who thinks they’re more important or bigger than what they really are — ala Cynthia McKinney. I’m sure just before Lane attacked that officer, she pulled the “Do you know who I am?” card.

________

And because I’m inclined towards wild speculation — seeing that this is Philly, and that Ms. Lane is part of the MSM, I’ll bet you dollars to pennies that if you were to look into how Ms. Lane votes and the candidates whom she donates to, that shes a Democrat.

Not that it matters…but I’ll bet I’m right.

And if so, the Left should be aghast that one of their own would use a homophobic slur like “dyke bitch” against a female cop.

_______

The good news for Alycia Lane is that after she’s fired from her reporter job, she’ll probably be a shoe in for slot on The View.

This may or may not be an actual picture of Alycia Lane in her bikini

________

UPDATE:

The Daily Examiner has the actual quote from the police report as being: “I DON’T GIVE A FUCK WHO YOU ARE I AM A REPORTER YOU FUCKING DYKE.”

Nice manners, babe. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

The Smoking Gun reports on the difficulty in obtaining Ms. Lane’s mug shot.

You’ve got to be kidding.

No. I’m not.

As I said… not important. But I’ll bet she is. Not because she attacked a cop. But because she’s a journalist in Philly.

Bet she claims she is bi-polar — the disease du jour, and therefore, lacks culpability.

Not because she attacked a cop. But because she’s a journalist in Philly

Then what’s the point? It would be like if I said I bet that Roger Clemons and Andy Petitte are Republicans! (not because they cheat at baseball, but because they are middle-aged millionaire white guys).

I’m all for healthy partisanship but even I didn’t think to blame politics for their failings.

What a bitch.

Dianne, since she didn’t beeyotch slap the officer, but slugged her, I think calling her a “slug” might be more appropriate.
/and unkind to a whole bunch of wonderful dogs

Love to hear her side, and not all the media hype. Since she called her a “dyke”, she’ll probally have to go to rehab.

The story as reported is straight from the police report. (http://willdo.philadelphiaweekly.com/archives/2007/12/alycia_lane.html) There is no ‘media hype’ involved here. She jumped out of a cab, yelled at an unmarked police car, and continued to yell after the people in that car identified themselves as police officers. When she was asked to back up she punched a female officer in the face.

Where is the outrage from those of you who are obviously trying to make this a political issue? Don’t you support the police? No one has the right to do this to our hard working police officers.

Of course, the author of this blog would rather use the event as a slam against a political party. Unbelievable.

Since she called her a “dyke”, she’ll probally have to go to rehab.

That’s right. Dyke Rehab. There’ll be nothing but young, sweaty, angry women tearing each other’s clothes off and wrestling nude. ((shudder))

Henh…you were right, but then some conclusions are easier to leap to, than others.

Her first call upon release from custody after punching a NYPD officer was, according to the Philadelphia Daily News, to Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell. A spokesman for the Pennsylvania governor told the paper, she did it to “make sure he knew her side of the story because he is an opinion-maker and runs around in influential circles.” And “I think she knew better than to ask him to intervene.” He also stressed that the office was not going intervene in the matter. To us it seemed like a bit more bad judgment on the part of Lane.

Much to our surprise no gay or lesbian groups seemed to have complained about Lane’s comments yet, however the Post may have sweetened a quote in their initial reporting, by adding the word “bitch” to their version of what Lane said making it seem a bit more worse than it actually was.

Source.
Of course the silence of the womens and lesbian groups was a tip-off that she was a fellow traveler. At least they are predictable.

GO TO RUSSIA AND STAY!

? Isn’t this an example of “hate speech” AND a “hate crime” ??? Where is the entire media & the gay & lesbian community on this ???

Got something you want to say?
