Who Should I Vote for Survey

UPDATE (Super Tuesday, Feb 5)

I’m getting a ton of hits on this page today for people looking for “who should I vote for”. Since you’re wondering, if you are anti-amnesty for illegal aliens please do not vote for Sen. John McCain today. If you’re voting in the Democratic primary, it doesn’t make a difference, as both Hillary and Barack support amnesty.

Please read this post on how you should vote depending on what state you live in (in order to defeat John McCain).

According to this survey, the candidate I should vote for/support is:

  • Duncan Hunter
  • John McCain
  • Tom Tancredo
  • Fred Thompson

All four of these candidates were rated an 18 for me. I like Hunter and Thompson the most, so that’s pretty accurate.

The bottom three candidates:

  • Chris Dodd (0)
  • Dennis Kucinich (3)
  • Mike Gravel (4)

The biggest surprise was that I agreed with Dennis “Coo-Coo” Kucinich on anything…

I like Thompson too. Too bad he doesn’t like himself enough to get “out there” and do what it takes to convince the public he wants this as much as they want it for him. Hunter is a great guy. He is so underrated it’s a shame. I cannot stand McCain.

I’m still favoring Romney, but for some reason, he’s looking worse in the polls. I’m beginning to think the Republican party doesn’t want him…like they’re afraid of him or something becasue he’s a Mormon.

Dianne- The polls of the GOP race have been fascinating. Months ago I thought Huckabee or Brownback looked like archetypical nominees but I had given up on Huckabee this late in the race. And I have no idea if a win in Iowa gives him enough of a bounce to compensate for his relative lack of money and organization in other states.

Thanks for the poll link, Robbie. I got different results than on other polls I’ve taken. I have Dodd at 20. Clinton, Edwards, and Obama at 19 and Richardson at 18. That doesn’t really help my decision.

Hunter, Romney, Tancredo, and Thompson all ended with zero.

I have to say that I’m a little suspicious of the methodology. Many of the choices are pretty similar and I wasn’t necessarily opposed to selections I didn’t choose. But I guess the results are pretty close to what I’d guess.

It does underscore the importance of non-issue concerns- for instance, Giuliani was rated as my highest Republican but I think the man is not stable or fit to be President.

From what I have read, Preston, you would not think any Republican fit to be President.

On the other hand I don’t think any of the Democrats are fit to be President as well.

With low voter turnout in each election, we all get what we deserve.

A giant deuche or a turd sandwich.

Well, there’s ‘fit’: having sound policies to make America safer and stronger.

Then there’s fit: not having Nixonian levels of authoritarianism and paranoia.

Giuliani is a two-time loser.

Dianne, I’m not sure what you mean by Fred Thompson not getting out there. He most assuredly is. Maybe you’re not looking in the right places - or maybe you’re going by what the Left Stream Media is reporting? Besides the fact that he is doing a bus tour of Iowa, with 50+ stops and one day off for Christmas, he was on Laura Ingraham’s radio show this morning, did Fox & Friends even earlier, then did Hannity & Colmes this evening.

So, Disney and Fox are squelching coverage of Fred Thompson because he’s so awesome they are afraid he’ll take the nation by storm?

Sounds a little far-fetched to me.

Occam’s Razor might suggest that Thompson is neither the victim of a news blackout or his own scheduling but simply the fact that he’s not the prefered candidate of 90% of GOP primary voters. There’s no crime in that- there can only be one winner and Thompson didn’t live up to his hype.
