Michael James at Political Punch is up in a lather that Sen. Bob Kerrey (D-Neb) used Barack Obama’s full name when discussing the junior senator from Illinois.
Why Did Bob Kerrey Mention Obama’s Middle Name — ‘Hussein’?
Some Obama supporters have asked why former Sen. Bob Kerrey, D-Neb., who endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., today, mentioned her opponent Sen. Barack Hussein Obama’s middle name in remarks published in The Washington Post.
I don’t know Michael — but I’m going to go out on a limb here and say, “Because it is his middle name”?
Sen. Clinton is referred to by her full name — Hillary Rodham Clinton — much more often than you hear Sen. Obama being referred to by his full Muslim-themed name.

So, let me get this straight: opponents are not allowed to mention that Sen. Obama’s middle name is Hussein, or that his father and grandmother are Muslim — otherwise we’re being racist.
For merely uttering his Allah-given name.
The kids at No More Mister Nice Blog think that not only should we not be able to mention that Mr. Obama’s middle name is actually Hussein (and it’s not just some Reich-wing slur) — but they also think that reminding people that Mr. Obama is black is also racist.
Message: Ahem, 95% white Iowa and 96% white New Hampshire, Barack Obama is black in the way those shiftless black teenagers who haunt your nightmares are black. And he’s a camel jockey named Hussein as well.
If we can’t mention true things about the Democratic candidates, we’ll have to resort to the Left-wing strategy of just making shit up…

Funny, I can come up with most all recent Presidents’ middle names (least in my lifetime) without a pause, and I expect the same will be true with any president so Obama better get used to it if he’s elected.

But I also acknowledge that I probably pay more attention to these things than the average citizen.

I suppose you have a reference for the above because I heard the exact opposite! I heard him say (with my own ears) on television that he defends an aethiest’s right to have no religion.
It wasn’t mentioned in his big speech according to any accounts I’ve heard. I don’t have the transcript but quotes like these seem determined to make the point that Christians, Muslims, Jews, and Mormons are true Americans yet people who don’t go to church are not: “Freedom requires religion just as religion requires freedom.” And, “Freedom and religion endure together or perish alone.”
(I don’t know what Romney actually believes but I suspect he refused to provide a sop to the Godless so that he would provoke outraged opinion pieces from liberals that he could use to bolster his shakey conservative credentials.)
Well, Preston, I doubt that Mitt would care if you went to church or not but he ain’t about to take In God We Trust off currency or remove the references to God off the Supreme Court and the monuments in D.C. either. Thank God!
It seems like he cares an awful lot what I believe (presuming that he cares for the perpetuation of democracy in this country).
FWIW- I don’t think any of the Presidential candiates are calling for the changing of US currency.
I’ve been calling him Hussein for quite a while, now I just refer to him as Obambi.

And Mitt Romney is, of course, named Willard Milton Romney.
I ALWAYS refer to him as Hussein….get the word out!!! He may be a great person but I will err on the side of caution when it comes to “Muslim”

Why do you “err”. His father was an atheist who was “raised” Muslim. Are you one of those people who have succumb to the fear of the current administration? Do you believe that ALL Muslims are out to get you? If so, I suggest going to a mental health facility. Although Obama is Christian by religious beliefs, I could care less. Also by saying that you “err”, you are basically condoning RacisM. Good job alan. Think about your stances and try to grow up. Discuss the issues at hand, rather than oblivious aspects such as those that make you “err”.
