Happy New Year everybody!

I hope you all had a fun and safe New Year’s Eve last night.

In addition to being New Year’s Eve, December 31 is also our wedding anniversary (6th), so we always have a dual celebration of sorts on New Year’s Eve.

We celebrated fairly low-key this year — we had an early dinner and quite a bit of wine at a new wine bar (The Grove Wine Bar and Kitchen on Bee Cave Rd.) just down the road from our house.

Then we went to Starbucks for a cinnamon hot chocolate and a white chocolate mocha before heading home early for the night.

_______

I always tell people that every year of my life has been better than the last — and none of them have ever been particularly bad, either. I’ve been exceptionally fortunate that way in my life.

So my Holiday toast to everybody this year is: May this year be better than last — in whatever and however many ways that you need or wish it to be.

Happy New Year to y’all from the Netherlands..

Ow, my head hurts…. 16:39 CET (GMT +1:00) But what a night.. One to remember. No anniversary for me, quit smoking at 0:01, start smoking at 0:02.

Thank you Jocko (rhythm talk) for your music.

Happy New Year. I watched fireworks from the roof and managed not to drink so much to ruin my New Years Day. Off to a good start!

Happy New Year from the other side of Austin! We had friends over and watched the ball drop on the TV, popping champagne and listening to the fireworks erupt all over the neighborhood. (one of the perks of living in unincorporated areas of the county)

Remember to eat your black-eyed peas and happy anniversary!

Happy New Years, Robbie.

I’m in college bowl game Heaven, here.

Besides being the first day of a new year, this date has important historical significance.
It was on this day that the Emancipation Proclamation took effect.

Got something you want to say?
