Is Carmen Kontur-Gronquist the Buffest Mayor in the US?

UPDATE (Feb 27, 2008) — Carmen has been stripped of her job as mayor in a re-call vote.

I really don’t see what the controversy or the problem is here.

The mayor of Arlington, Oregon, Carmen Kontur-Gronquist, has pictures of herself (taken before she was mayor) posted on her private MySpace page posing in her black bra and underwear (on a firetruck).

Frankly, she looks fantastic. The people of Arlington should be proud of how fit and healthy their mayor is.

Besides, I don’t think that qualifies as a “lingerie pic”; it looks more like a bodybuilding competition picture. As does this one, also from her Myspace page:

My god!

I don’t know how anyone can complain about her face - she really is FAR from being an attractive woman! OK, so her looks may not appeal to some (or many) but she is also clearly not 20-years-old and has managed to maintain a body such as she has.

It is a credit to her that she was able to get herself so fit in the first place and I would gladly have someone like her (ie: with drive) for Mayor over the usual lot of overweight drunkards that get elected to similar positions.

I reckon she’s gorgeous :)

I think it is awsome to have a Mayor that isn’t some old fat cow or a bald guy. I mean come on she takes care of herself and is proud of who she is.

It just amazes me what the bible thumping extremists will pull outta their hats.

I am so thankful we live in a free country that seperates church and state. Oh and that Christians are such good people that they don’t judge others at the drop of a hat. Note the scarcasm!!

I don’t see what’s so controversal about it, either. She keeps herself in fantastic shape, and I would be honored to have someone like that as my mayor. If anything, she could be somewhat of a role model for the females in her town as well as her community to stay in shape and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Keep it up, Mayor!

I think she is hot. For being single, good looking a Mayor (or thanks to the friggin hypocrits, ex-mator), I think that showing off her hot body should be an inspiration to those who are fat, ugly and unsuccessful.

I think that people in her town should take a second look! (haha literally) So do people get offended when swimsuit magazines come through the mail, what about swimming at a local beach/pool. Heaven for bid, underwear catalogs, Victoria’s Secret and Fredericks, look out! Are successful people not allowed to do anything? I think that’s B.S. I work for a City and am a female fire fighter also. I have been in bikini races at a local ski hill, was on the news and everything. Except, I got support from my town, including my boss coming to watch. I even wore my fire department bunker gear with just a swimsuit top, my badge, and my helmet, in one race! The local’s were pumped, not thinking I was a bad role model, and we (the department) got donations! Come on people! What people do is their own time is their own business. Let me see, is she professional in her job? Isn’t that what matters! For cripes sakes leave the woman and her family alone, chances are, all the people upset/disgusted are only jealous! I understand there is professionalism in all aspects, but wouldn’t it be a lot worse if she was naked. I know, some would prefer that over the bra and panties, but seriously, she is not doing anything wrong in my opinion. Best wishes to you, Ms. Carmen Kontur-Gronquist.

personally I think she’s really hot, and be admired for taking such good care of herself…would love to see more women her age try to look that good. Recount the votes? why? cause she’s not some overweight frump, or good ole boy politician? Get real, prudes stop your bible thumping, and if you’re that jealous do something about it, would love to see more of this mayor!

Give me a F****** break. She is a very attractive female. Who cares about the photos…can she do the job for her town.
A private life is a private life, sometimes the internet takes it a step too far. I would like to say congrats on your hard work!!
You look wonderful!! I hope that your daughter can move forward and do the things that she wants to do.
Some people have shallow minds. I’m a male, 45 yrs. of age and don’t seem to be bothered. I would be honored to have her in my life!!
