I was browsing the Austin Bloggers Metablog, where I found this post at Sounds Like Austin, where they are bemoaning dress codes at a new Austin bar/nightclub (Qua).
I’m not a fan of dress codes in general, but especially so in Austin. But if that’s what a bar wants to do, then so be it. It’s not my kind of place anyway; I’ve never been and doubt I’ll ever go.
In the Sounds Like Austin post they point out the “typical” demographic crowd of Qua — while thumbing through the Qua’s pictures from their New Year’s Eve bash, my first thought was, “damn that’s a lot of white people all in one place. Does their dress code also prohibit black people?”. (The Qua doesn’t allow anybody under the age of 25 in, either — which is something I actually think of as a plus in their favor).
But the real reason for this post is this picture:
Is that whiter-than-white-bread kid in his off-the-shelf (Men’s Warehouse?) suit really flashing a gang sign? What is that?

Ha. reminds me of that jamie kennedy movie malibus most wanted. about a white rich kid who hangs out at the local coffee shop with his homies, and wants to be rap star.. he feels the pain of society while he drives his bmw around. ridiculous, but damn funny. what a dork in that picture.
