Heath LedgerAnother young Hollywood actor dead from drugs (apparently).

Just a few days after actor Brad Renfro (The Client) died from drugs, 28-year old Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain, 10 Things I Hate About You) has died from suspected drug-related causes:

Actor Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence in what authorities say is a possible drug-related death, the NYPD said. He was 28.

My level of sympathy is zero for these young Hollywood stars who have the world as their oyster but choose instead to piss it all away on drugs.

Actually my sympathy level for almost anybody who chooses to kill themselves (whether it be slowly or quickly) with drugs is nil.

Ace agrees:

I’ll just never understand drug use by the incredibly rich and famous. Guys? You’re lives are already an ecstatic surreal hallucination of nonstop pleasure and thrills. Why the hell do you have to gild the lily?

________

UPDATE

Heath was found naked in Mary Kate Olsen’s Manhattan apartment (she was in California at the time). Apparently the pills found were sleeping pills.

I certainly feel bad for his 2-year old daughter.

And the orb keeps on turning.

Don’t judge yet, according to new reports the “drugs” were just over the counter stuff that wouldn’t kill anyone. I agree with you, but let’s wait and see what the investigation says.

I knew I had seen him before, but I haven’t seen the movies you listed. A friend just reminded me he was the son of Mel Gibson in “The Patriot.”
Now I remember him.

Let’s all live our lives as 100% republican, law abiding, straight and god fearing citizens.

Please shoot me..

I think it’s a good idea to at least be a law abiding citizen.

But hey, that must be the straight, republican, imperial warmonger in me talking, right?

Wow, Jaques, a guy who’s IP resolves to Amsterdam supporting drug use as a good thing…

And yes, we should all live as law abiding, straight (and by straight, I assume you mean non-drug addicted, or were you talking about sexual preference, which has nothing to do with this story…) and God fearing.

What a great way to live life.

first off do you think if he was living a nobody like you had something good or bad to say about him, no. Second it doesn’t matter if he killed himself or something just happened to him, its still sad. What if you killed yourself and your friends didn’t sympathize your death there just saying ooh there goes another kid who killed himself, there must have been something wrong with him. so think about what your saying, he didn’t lose his talent he probably lost his heart.

P.S. that “update is wrong” him and Mary-Kate Olsen lived in the same apartment building, he wasn’t in hers.

I don’t have sympathy for him if he indeed committed suicide. The reasons are because of his wealth, help was available to him that is not available to other people, i.e., he could afford and obtain any treatment he wanted immediately and he could afford to take off work without worrying about his finances, or even choose never to work again.

I also have problems with people who commit suicide who have children in that it has a devastating effect on their kids. Beyond the fact that depression may be hereditary, a child of a parent who commits suicide has a much higher chance of committing suicide themselves. Nice legacy to leave your kid.

Yeah Robbie, that’s me, Jacques from Amsterdam and my IP, how’s the real estate going these days in Houston.

I thought you were an Atheist and pro women’s rights..

Well, the guy wasn’t even cold yet and directly he looses your sympathy. Your update was more clear: sleeping pills…

No Occam this time? The last time with the molested military grave you had your mind made up in a split second: The left was responsible. And as always Occam was there with you. At least you use his razor quite often and almost every time wrong. And it’s not such a hard principle to understand.

So you don’t have sympathy for the dead guy. Who cares anyway? He sure as hell doesn’t. It common knowledge you only have sympathy for people sharing your own narrow minded believes.

Yeah, what a life! I rather would say Get-A-Life, don’t become a boring republican robot.

You don’t want to be controlled by the government but you quietly follow all laws. Heads down.

3 cents this time. Boring.

Did y’all follow the rest of this story? How’s your sympathy toward this guy now Robbie?

No sympathy whatsoever. The guy was abusing drugs. Period.

He “accidentally” overdosed, when he only meant to get “really high”. I’ll save my sympathy for somebody who deserves it — like his daughter.

It were prescription drugs and there was an error with the amount of prescriptions, not made by him. The mix was the problem. But hey, you can read that anywhere. Where exactly can I read he was a abuser of drugs like you say, except here.

Sigh.

Sydney, Jan 31 (ANI): A video of late actor Heath Ledger allegedly on a drug binge at a Hollywood hotel is set to be aired by Channel 9, according to reports.

According to US program Entertainment Tonight, the Australian network got hold of copies of the video, reportedly shot at Los Angeles celebrity hangout Chateau Marmont in January last year.

Channel 9 is considering becoming the first television station in Australia to air a full version of the scandalous footage.

Nine’s Los Angeles bureau chief Robert Penfold admitted that the network was planning to air the footage on Jan 31.

Ledger also talks about his drug use and other not so pretty things are seen.

“I used to smoke five joints a day,” Heath reveals. And that’s not the only thing. It’s being reported that Ledger also battled addiction to heroin, cocaine, alcohol and prescription pills.

Abuse was the key word… Like Amy Winehouse abuse or something.

When she dies of a drugs overdose I can understand. I would still have sympathy for her, great singer, but I can understand..

Typical homophobic response.

Hey, KY — which response are you referring to? And does your user name have anything at all to do with jelly?

Got something you want to say?
