So, Berkeley, California hates the Marine Corps.

No big surprise there. They’ve always hated the military. But now they’ve made if official that Marines are not welcome in Berkeley:

That’s the message from the Berkeley City Council, which voted 6-3 Tuesday night to tell the U.S. Marines that its Shattuck Avenue recruiting station “is not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders.”

In addition, the council voted to explore enforcing its law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation against the Marines because of the military’s don’t ask, don’t tell policy. And it officially encouraged the women’s peace group Code Pink to impede the work of the Marines in the city by protesting in front of the station.

In a separate item, the council voted 8-1 to give Code Pink a designated parking space in front of the recruiting station once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week from noon to 4 p.

This comes after Berkeley’s move to treat military recruitment centers like porn shops.

Do I question their patriotism? No. Because they have none.

It’s time to secede Berkeley from the United States, and build a border fence around them to keep them out of our country.

Either that or the Federal Government should:

  1. Use the Solomon Amendment to cut off ALL federal funding and money that goes to Berkley, or
  2. Use the powers of Eminent Domain, raze City Hall and Cal and turn it into the nation’s largest and most elaborate Military Recruiting Station and Training facilities ever, or
  3. Challenge the Leftards to enforce their “no recruiting stations” plan by sending in the Corp of Engineers and building a bunch of recruiting centers anyway. Keep a few M1A1 Abrams on hand, and a few platoons of heavily armed Soldiers on guard during the construction.

At the very least, the Marine recruiters stationed in Berkeley should be able and allowed to defend themselves and their station from vandalism and physical attacks from the America-hating denizens of Berkeley — up to and including deadly force. Anybody who is merely wounded should be tried for treason.

Yes, I’m serious.

Love your comments. I just sent an email to the city council of Berkley . I have friends that want me to visit, but I’m afraid I’m not intollerant enough. What’s a gal to do?

fyi, this past weekend 185+/- bikes rode from Houston to Blessing, Tx for our third annual Memorial ride - for those we’ve lost, those who have served and those who continue to do so. As you can imagine it was something to behold.

Nice web site.
Smart Ass White Chick

Buck Ferkeley.

They’ve gone too far. The City Council should be ashamed. The men and women who have died thus far have given those people the right to protest.
I’m not saying they don’t have the right, but they are now impeding on the rights of others.
Disgraced to call these people fellow Americans.

FYI, Move America Forward has a response up here.

And a petition

These people are embarrassing themselves. Since when does the Marine Corps decide where they go to fight and whom? If they had that right, I am quite sure that Berkeley would have been “visited” by now. Is all the whining really about guns & violence regardless of who fires first? Do Berkeley’s finest carry weapons? Would they show up at an armed robbery to pass out pink shirts?

Semper Fi Marines!

Got something you want to say?
