Two headlines I thought must be related when I first saw them at Memeorandum:
First, this headline and story from the New York Times: The Pork King Keeps His Crown — in reference to Rep. John Murth (D-PA):
The new earmark disclosure rules put into effect by Congress confirm the pre-eminence of Representative John Murtha at procuring eye-popping chunks of pork for contractors he helped put in business in Johnstown, Pa.
Then, when I saw this headline from Matt Stoller at Open Left: What Corruption Looks Like, I immediately thought that Matt was finally going to take a corrupt Democrat to task.
Silly me. Matt wouldn’t know what real corruption looked like if it kicked him in the balls.
_____
CORRECTION — My apologies to Matt Stoller. His article does not mention the party affiliation of the corrupt Congressman that he was discussing — Rep. Al Wynn (D-Maryland). I don’t know who Rep. Wynn is — had never even heard of him, so I made an ass of myself by just assuming that Stoller was talking about a Republican.

You see that Stoller is ‘taking a corrupt Democrat to task’, right?
Al Wynn is a Democrat from Maryland.
(I’ll leave it to others to judge whether he is indeed corrupt- though the appearance of his vote being for sale seems obvious though surely not isolated)
Thanks for the correction Preston. I did not know that Wynn was a democrat, and should have looked it up instead of assume.
Stoller’s piece did not mention party affiliation. I’ve made the appropriate correction in the post.
