One of Obama’s aides has publicly admitted what we all already knew (or at least all of us who live in a reality-based world, rather than a hopey-and-changey-based world) — that neither Sen. Clinton nor himself are ready for that “3 a.m. call”.

“Clinton hasn’t had to answer the phone at three o’clock in the morning and yet she attacked Barack Obama for not being ready,’’ Ms. Rice said. “They’re both not ready to have that 3 a.m. phone call.”

This wasn’t some low-level campaign office manager who has a special affinity for Che Guevara either — this was Susan Rice, his foreign policy adviser.

Hell, Barack isn’t even ready for a mid-day call from his hometown paper to answer a few simple questions about his involvement with indicted political fixer Tony Rezko — how can we expect him to be ready to take a call at 3:00 a.m. when our national security is at stake? (it’s a rhetorical question, as the answer is, “We can’t.”)

He can’t even remember if some of his current staffers were given cushy jobs by Rezko…their response? “Don’t know — but it’s possible.”

Can you state exactly what Obama is being accused of doing wrong here? Are you implying that George Bush was guilty of defrauding Enron’s investors because he met with Kenny Boy a dozen times in the Oval Office?

This is baseless wingnut innuendo, the new Whitewater. You better hope this sticks; you got nothing on this guy and you know it. That’s why you want Hillary to win the nomination.

Uhhh…Pat, you silly nutroot, Ken Lay was a frequent guest of President Clinton. The whole Enron thing went down under the Horny Hick’s administration, and the really off the deep end LLL commentator Paul Krugman was an economic consultant for Enron. The extensive links between the Horny Hick and other well known donks can be found here….50 Reasons Why The Democrats Are Hypocrites When It Comes To Enron.
Pat, that thing on your face, is it scrambled or over easy?

Is your implication here that we shouldn’t vote for Obama because he wouldn’t be ready to take a call from the red phone at 3am (not rhetorical)? If so, which yes i know it is, that seems a strange thing to lob insults at a potential president for.

From reading this blog i get the impression that you’re a fan of Bush and would be willing to annoint him as your chosen one for life if you could, but can you honestly say that you believed he would have been ready for a 3am phone call before he took office? What part of his time as part of the rangers, or working on covering up his nantucket accent in west texas, or sleeping with the saudis, or even being the governor of texas would prepare him for that? that too is rhetorical, because the answer is of course none of it.

but it’s not just bush, it’s everyone who as ever run for the office of president. the sad truth is that we don’t know how anyone would act in this situation until they’re in it, becuase know one running for president, including mccain, has been in that situation before.

i’d also like to take a moment to publicly laugh at you for even trying to point a finger at Obama and use the word corruption in the same sentence. i have to believe for your sake that at some point you have suffered some injury which has affected your short term memory, but was only limited to the last 8 years. i need only say a few names, mark foley, larry craig, karl rove, scooter libby, jack abramhoff, to make clear that this level of hypocrisy is unbelievable, even for a republican.

to reiterate, whether or not you believe someone could handle that call is just that, your belief. so please, try and live up to the founding fathers that you claim to revere so much, and offer the same respect you demand for our troops to another of our public servants, or at least the proper dignity and respect that belongs to a sitting and elected member of the United States Senate.

Anonymous, if that is your real name, Mark Foley and Larry Craig are corrupt? News to me.
What was Karl Rove guilty of, other than outsmarting liberals for the past how many years. He’s to be praised for that.
Scooter Libby, what did he do, other than a contradiction in repeated Grand Jury sessions, all the while the prosecutor already knew who leaked Valerie Plame’s name, and it wasn’t Scooter.
Yeah, Jack Abramahoff was an influence peddler, and he sure got around, just ask Senator Reid, who still refuses to give the money back.
While no one can go to school to learn how to deal with national emergencies, and it is an OJT situation, some are better prepared, let’s say tested under fire. As a state rep who voted “present” 130 times on serious matters, and has served a few years in the Senate, all the while running for President, he has no, let us say…Street Cred. He has never been tested as a leader. While Gov. Bush was our Governor for six years, leading a state with the 11th leading economy in the world, he had to make executive decisions everyday, including signing orders for execution of capital punishment. He never said he was “present” and passed responsibility on to others.
B-HO is a phony and a Marxist, inexperienced, and unfit to lead.

sorry, internet explorer got spotty on me while trying to edit my comment.

my name’s not anonymous, this is my name.

i’m pretty sure that corruption does include calling yourself republican and then engaging in illegal activities in the bathroom of an airport. i’m also pretty sure that soliciting sexual favors from 16 year old male pages isn’t exaclty up to congressional code (that’s mark foley since you’ve apparently forgotten).

i do appreciate your quick response though no 2 liberals (is that your real name?) becuase it illustrates my point better than i could on my own.

the point is not obama’s policies or his experience. the point is not bush’s policies or his experience. the point is that no one has the experience to take a 3am phone call that is a major national security issue. of those things you named bush did as governor, which one would require a call at 3am? so even if you let go that bush’s work as governor was only slightly close to being president, you still are left at the same place. he could not have possibly been ready. no one could.

and thank you also for continuing to attack obama’s record in the senate. he voted present and passed responsibility? can you remember a single month in 2006 or 2007 where bush was present at the capital for a consecutive 30 days without vacation? if so, please use this as a forum to post actual and verifiable facts to that effect.
and again as reiteration, the point of the post is robbie’s hypocrisy. conservatives tell us, no, demand of us that we respect our troops, but look the other way when we do not do the same for our elected leaders who are members of a party other than your own.

i’m truly sorry as an american to see you or anyone else so full of hate and contempt that the ideas that are america are forced from you, and you’re left with only the drive to force political hegemony on those who don’t agree with you to the letter. please, if you can, read into marxism before you dismiss it. if you actually read it you may find aspects of it that are applicable to you without requiring that you become socialist. at the same time i urge you, no 2 liberals, to pick up a copy of mein kompf, even though it will put you on a watch list, and examine from a first hand view where those desires to force everyone to be and think like you actually lead.

Kit, that’s a mouthful of you just spewed.
You want to start the little game of which members of Congress and their party affiliations that were involved in improper sexual activity for the past twenty years? The donks are the winners, by a wide margin. Most people don’t consider improper sexual conduct as corruption.
B-HO voted present 130 times while a state rep, you twit, don’t you read or comprehend anything? As for B-HO’s time as Senator, the majority of it has been spent on campaigning for President, and has not only missed many votes on important matters, he even chairs a subcommittee

Doubts about Barack Obama’s presidential credentials have crystallized during the past two weeks over his stewardship of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s Subcommittee on European Affairs, which has convened no policy hearings since he took over as its chairman last January. That startling fact, first uncovered by Steve Clemons, who blogs on the Washington Note, prompted acid comment in Europe about the Illinois senator’s failure to visit the continent since assuming the committee post, and even speculation that he had never traveled there except for a short stopover in London.

Yeah, buddy! That’s some leadership in action right there!
Especially considering how important that committee’s work is on dealing with NATO allied countries, who are now in charge of the Afghan operation.
You can discount W’s time as Governor before he became President, but I won’t, and it was certainly more of a learning experience for Chief Executive than B-HO has gained. As for the President being out of Washington, of course he has, but he was always President and in communication with those he needed to be. B-HO was seldom in Washington to vote in the Senate, and that was his job. Now that I think of it, Shirker might make a better middle name for B-HO than Hussein, or my favorite, Quisling.
You call Robbie a hypocrite, and I will leave it to him to deal with you on that, he is more than capable of hitting a stationary target.
Yes, everyone should respect our troops, but please don’t lecture me on respecting elected officials, particularly the donk candidates. If I were to follow the left’s model for respecting our elected officials, I would be referring to B-HO and Hillary in terms of Nazis and chimpanzees.
Read into Marxism before I dismiss it? WTF are you talking about, are you a commie shithead? It’s because I have looked into Marxism is the reason I dismiss it wholly. I don’t care what you believe, and am not trying to force anything on anyone. I’m just stating my positions, and that I am unwilling to even consider moving to the left. I wish more in this country would feel the same as I do, but until they do, I will be addressing any who will listen why liberalism is a mental disorder, and Marxism is a concept that has been tried repeatedly, and always fails.

conservatives tell us, no, demand of us that we respect our troops, but look the other way when we do not do the same for our elected leaders who are members of a party other than your own.

This from the side who spewed BushHitlerMcChimpyHaliburtonSelectedNotElected b.s. for 8 years . lol!

Got something you want to say?
