Governor Rick Perry and I are old buddies. Sort of.

We met once at the funeral of General Tex Hill in San Antonio last October. We even posed for a picture:

And we’re practically neighbors, and a rarity here in Austin — we’re both openly and unapologetically Republican.

Rick Perry adWhich is why I’m so disappointed by this.

I was just perusing the front page over at Right Wing News, and noticed this Blog Ad for Texas Governor Rick Perry’s book On My Honor.

To which I gotta say, “Hey Rick. Throw me a bone.”

I mean, I’m running the most prominent conservative political blog right here in your own backyard (which of course is a lot like being the smartest kid on the short bus).

Seems like an ad buy on Urbangrounds would have been a no-brainer. Or at least an advanced copy of your book so that I could have posted a review (I wasn’t a Boy Scout, but I was a Cub Scout for a while).

I’ll tell you what — if it turns out that you’re going to be Sen. McCain’s choice for VP, you should at least let a friendly local blog break the story (hint). Then I can forgive the Blog Ad oversite.

Got something you want to say?
