Ouch. This type of video is exactly how the GOP should start going after Barack Obama:

It pieces together Wright’s most extreme comments, Michelle Obama’s statement, footage of Obama not putting his hand over his heart during the anthem at a political event, and images of Malcolm X and the two black Olympians in 1968 who raised their fists in the “black power” salute set to the Public Enemy song “Fight the Power.”

I can see why they’d want their young daughters exposed to that kind of hateful preaching….

From Jonathan Martin at Politico:

Until now, questions about Obama’s allegiance to country had been largely confined to the fever swamps of the Internet and e-mail chains. They took the form of dark whispers about the greater meaning of Obama’s failure to put his hand over his heart during one national anthem, his decision not to wear an American flag lapel pin and, at their most toxic, the outright lie that he’s a Muslim or some sort of Manchurian candidate.

I wonder if anyone found it interesting that when Obama delivered his “major speech on race” yesterday, he did so with the backdrop of eight American flags!

I know the speech was nothing more than a CYA speech. Were the flags just CYA too?

There’s an old Norwegian slang word that everyone in my Norske town used when I was growing up and to this day when I cannot find a word to describe how I feel concerning a “particularly troubling situation”, out comes :

Uff da

The video above caused me to utter ” Uff da ”

To clarify:

The Meaning of Uff Da
Adapted from a postcard from Bergquist Scandinavian Imports

UFF DA IS:

* trying to dance the polka to rock and roll music
* losing your wad of gum in the chicken yard
* having Swedish meat balls at a lutefisk supper
* spending two hours cleaning up my room and my mom says ‘Uff Da’
* walking downtown and then wondering what you wanted
* arriving late at a lutefisk supper and getting served minced ham instead
* looking in the mirror and discovering you’re not getting better, just older
* trying to pour two buckets of manure into one bucket
* having a mouse crawl up your leg when you’re on a hayload
* eating hot soup when you’ve got a runny nose
* getting out of bed in the morning with a backache
* getting swished in the face with a cow’s wet tail
* waking yourself up in church with your own snoring
* forgetting your mother-in-law’s first name
* when two steady girl friends find out about each other
* noticing non-Norwegians at a church dinner using lefse for a napkin
* eating a delicious sandwich and then discovering the spread is cat food
* sneezing so hard your false teeth end up in the bread plate
* NOT being Lutheran

Henh…good one, Dianne.
I’m sure there are some colorful adjectives that one could use, also.

You people need to stop being so scared…. Obama is not a boogie-man/communist/terrorist…. He ain’t even racist so you can fold away your fear that White people are gonna get treated like they treated/treat non-Whites. The bigger the fear the bigger the guilt of being a racist….. I can’t blame you for trying to hold onto the
idea of supremacy–but its already gone…. You can’t bring back
Jim Crow, slave codes, and all that other foul mess of the Confederacy…. Let go and let God….

Got something you want to say?
