Kwame Kilpatrick (D) — America’s Most Dispicable Mayor

UPDATE (3/24) — Kwame has been indicted for conspiracy to obstruct justice, obstruction of justice, misconduct in office, perjury in a court proceeding and two counts of perjury other than in a court proceeding. If convicted he could (and should) serve up to 15 years in prison.

Sometimes I’m just dumbfounded by the things that Liberals respect:

I think you’ve got to respect the tenacity Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is showing with his decision to hang on as mayor despite a 7-1 City Council vote asking him to resign. At issue is the fact that the mayor seems to have lied under oath to help cover up an affair with a subordinate.

Actually, Matty — No, you don’t have to respect him for being an arrogant, lying, cheating dirty politician common thug.

Oh, and since Matty didn’t mention it, I will — Kwame is a Democrat.

Um, that’s weak.

(I trust you’re just trying to score political points not under the impression that Matthew Yglesias actually respects the Mayor for evading numerous scandals. [The fourth comment down should have tipped you off])

You’re weak. The “fourth comment” is from someone who “thinks” MY is being sarcastic. This is followed by posts from others who are unsure if MY is being sarcastic and also criticize Yglesias for omitting damning information about this crook. One thing I don’t see in Yglesias post is any criticism of Kilpatrick.

It’s unbelievable that you have demonized liberals to the point where you are completely unable to determine their intentions.

If MY was attempting to defend Kilpatrick don’t you suppose he would have- you know- offered a defense? Maybe he wouldn’t have reiterated that the mayor seems to have lied under oath to help cover up an affair with a subordinate without providing some theory about why the charges were unjust?

Whatever- I don’t give a damn one way or another about the Mayor of Detroit. But the cartoon view of the world you must have is a bit distressing.

just wanted to say thanks for including the fact that this mayor is a dem. i almost stopped after the description and if i had, i’d have sworn he was a republican or a bush appointee.
