David Paterson — Another Black Democrat Who Used Cocaine

A black, up-and-coming Democratic politician with an admitted history of snorting cocaine — no I’m not talking about Barry Obama.

This time it’s new New York Governor David Paterson, who seems to be doing a lot of fessing up in his first few weeks in office…

Apparently in Democratic circles you enhance your street-cred by admitting to being a previous drug user, so don’t look for this to get any more traction.

This comment pretty much nails it:

Clearly 2 completely unqualified, reprehensible, irresponsible individuals were voted into office in NY State. Illegal narcotic use, illicit affairs with subordinates resulting in promotion for those subordinates? What else can we expect from the Hier to the NY Throne? What hypocrisy awaits us tomorrow? How embarrassing - NY should request good old Marion Berry to come on up with a score and share the white pipe with this clown and his predecessor.

If this guy came out next week and admitted to engaging in child sex trafficking in Thailand back when he was younger, I wouldn’t bat an eye.

Why is Patterson admitting to all this? Better to admit it up front than get caught later? Following the Obama playbook?
