Thank goodness for the Second Amendment and a person’s right to defend their life and their property with deadly force:

A robbery suspect is in critical condition at a hospital after he was shot by a pawn shop manager during an attempted hold-up, Houston police said.

The 17-year-old and two other masked men were holding pistols and rifles shortly before noon Wednesday when they forced their way into Mason’s Pawn Shop on Cullen near Bellfort, police said.

“They immediately started yelling for everybody to get on the ground,” said Houston Police Sgt. Brian Harris.

The teenager jumped over the counter and threatened to kill everyone inside the store, police said.

“The manager was able to pull a pistol and shoot the man,” Harris said.

The teenager was struck in the neck. He was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital and is now facing a charge of aggravated robbery, police said.

The two other robbers, who also were wearing ski masks, fled in a blue Chevrolet pickup with chrome wheels, police said.

They are 18-to-25 years old. One was wearing a dark-colored T-shirt while the other wore a white T-shirt.

Two things about this brilliant piece of politically-correct reporting from the Houston Chronicle:

1. Unfortunately, the thug who was shot in the neck lived. I somehow doubt that he has health insurance, which means that the heroic measures being taken at Ben Taub Hospital  to save his life are costing me, you, and everyone else who does pay health insurance premiums and taxes.
2. I watched the video that accompanied this story. The officer who was interviewed for this story filled in a very important piece of information that the Chronicle reporter and his editor decided to leave out: the race of the thugs who threatened to kill 9-people during an armed robber: Yep, you guessed they were all black.

Given that two of these thugs are still on the loose and still armed, don’t you think that the citizens of Houston have a right to know as much information as their is to help identify and capture these thugs?

The answer is yes. Unless they’re black. In which case we’re not allowed to mention it.
