Marines at War

Despite the best efforts of anti-military groups like Code Pink, Moveon.org, and numerous Lefty college associations — the military is still hitting all of its recruiting goals.

Especially the Marine Corps, which has met 142% of its recruiting goal:

The Marine Corps far surpassed its recruiting goal last month and could eventually be more than a year ahead of schedule in its plan to grow the force to 202,000 members.

All military services met or exceeded their monthly recruiting goals in April, with the Marine Corps signing 142 percent of the number it was looking for, the Pentagon said.

The Army signed 101 percent of its goal, recruiting 5,681 against a goal of 5,650. The Navy and Air Force met their goals — 2,905 sailors and 2,435 airmen.

The Marine Corps enlisted 2,233 recruits against a goal of 1,577.

I’d like to thank Medea Benjamin of Code Pink, who has probably done more to encourage young men and women to join the Marine Corps than she has do dissuade them.

I’m sure the NY Times will bury this great news somewhere at the back of their failing daily rag. But just imagine if the Marine Corps were 42% behind their recruiting goals, I’ll bet you dimes to nickels that this would be in 48 pt type at the top of Page 1.

The US Army should change their slogan to “just a bunch of bitter people clinging to their guns and religion” — lots of gun and God loving going on in the US Army. Which is why the Military is just one more segment of American society that Obama looks down his nose at and doesn’t even begin to understand.

The only thing that could turn those numbers around would be for B-HO or Shrillary to get in the White House. G.I.’s would be heading for the doors PDQ if those idiots became CIC.
Speaking of B-HO, he won’t release his birth certificate, as some reports from Kenya have circulated that his real name is Baracka Hussein Mohammed Obama, and that he was actually born in Kenya, but his mother applied for a birth certificate in Hawaii. It seems she was nearly due to deliver when Kenyan officials wouldn’t allow her on the plane for Hawaii. Stay tuned.

[Editor --- I'm not holding my breath...but oh Dear Jesus, please let it be true (and irrefutably proveable).]

Why dont you and Tom Friedman go Suck. On. This:

It may be said with rough accuracy that there are three stages in the life of a strong people. First, it is a small power, and fights small powers. Then it is a great power, and fights great powers. Then it is a great power, and fights small powers, but pretends that they are great powers, in order to rekindle the ashes of its ancient emotion and vanity. After that, the next step is to become a small power itself.

[Editor --- typical Liberal. Actually rooting for America's demise. Did you dance a little jig on Sept. 11, 2001 like our Muslim friends around the world did? Did you nod your head in agreement with the likes of Rev. Wright when they said American got what was coming to it? Did you proclaim Kurt Vonnegut an "true" American hero when he talked about how heroic the terrorists and other jihadis are?

Seriously, I don't know how you can live here with that kind of contempt and disdain for your own country. Shit, I doubt you even like yourself very much. How could you?]

What’s to ‘bury’?

As the article notes:
1. the slow economy boosts recruitment
2. the military has increased the numbers of recruiters
3. the military has increased the size of bonuses.

The article doesn’t even mention the reduced rigor of background checks of recruits since the war started.

It’s great that the military has apparently found its footing again. But to suggest that this didn’t come at a cost or that it reflects enthusiasm from the base of potential recruits is pretty thin.

I’m rooting for the demise of the tyrant who is spearheading America’s demise. And I’m winning.
