For the third time in Obama’s campaign for President, one of his prominent supporters has denigrated — of all things — Sen. John McCain’s military service: Jay Rockefeller, Tom Harkin, and now Bill Gillespie.
Gillespie has called McCain a “self-promoter†who came from “Navy royalty†who didn’t earn his way through his military career:
He said his “heart grieves†for McCain’s suffering as a POW. “After that,†Gillespie said, “he was somewhat of a celebrity and it went to his head. … I think he was a self-promoter for the last four years (in the Navy.)
Asked to cite specific examples, Gillespie responded, “I don’t have one right now.â€
Which means he was talking out of his ass.
Gillespie, like Harkin, is a military man himself — he served 23 years in the U.S. Army, retiring last year as a Lt. Colonel.
So he should know better.
For him to say that Sen. McCain did not “earn his way” through the military is just pathetic and shows a serious lack of character. Or integrity. Or basic honesty.
______
But you can see a basic campaign strategy taking place. Barry Obama — who never had the courage or fortitude to serve himself and knows he can’t say word one about Sen. McCain’s service — is instead using the few Democratic military men he can find who will do his dirty work for him.
Shame on them. And shame on Barry.
But seriously, if they want to go down this road, of attacking a true American hero’s 24-year military career — by all means, go ahead.

Redstate asks, “When will Barack Obama publicly say attacks on John McCain’s war record are off limits?”

B-HO, as the old saying goes, chose not to remain silent and remove all doubt he is a fool.
He’s got his slick-as-shiite handlers working for him, but he still gives us glimpses of his poor judgement and naive appeasement approaches to our national defense.
