the HD guys think that they, their bikes, their hundreds of dollars of perfectly matching and coordinating Harley Davidson riding gear and assorted HD accessories make them better than everyone else.

I have never gotten along well with either group.

I had a really bad neighbor once in Austin. Some yankee alcoholic that rode a rat bike, a harley. I think it leaked oil faster than he could put it in. I had a Honda 750 that was tight, fast, handled, and braked. I pulled into my apartment one day, and worthless and his bud were outside drinking beer, and he said something while I was taking my helmet off. I asked him to repeat what he said, and he said “another one of those G-D rice burners.” I said”rice burner?” To which he said, “yeah, burning up the roads in the rice paddies.” I laughed, as I had never heard the expression, and I replied, “well, it could be worse, I could be riding a Hardly Ableson.”
He made some gesture like he was going to come after me, which I welcomed, but he was too drunk to stand.

[Editor --- Uh. You do know that more Harley parts are manufactured outside of the US than are Honda parts. Right?]
