Here are two novel ideas — 1) a states’ Attorney General recommending following federal immigration laws, and 2) local colleges actually agreeing to abide by the law.
North Carolina’s 58 community colleges will no longer allow illegal immigrants to enroll, officials said Tuesday.
The move follows an advisory letter issued a week ago by the state Attorney General’s Office recommending that community colleges tighten their admissions standards to be more in line with federal laws.
Now imagine if we could get all government agencies, local governments, and employers to simply follow the federal immigrations laws…

It does say the ban is on degree curriculums, so I guess they could still take classes that are vocational.
Anyway, looking at the numbers of illegals involved in the NC system, it wouldn’t represent much of a loss of enrollment, therefore, the economic loss would be miniscule. In our state, I would hate to even know how many were enrolled, and they would surely represent much more of an economic impact to colleges and universities.
Still, I hope a definitive ruling is made on the illegality of illegals attending our schools, and the message gets reinforced, get legal or get the hell out.
