Barry Obama to Female Reporter: Hold on a Second, Sweetie

Channel 7 Action News reporter Peggy Agar had the audacity to ask full-time Presidential Candidate and fraction-of-the-time U.S. Senator Barry Obama a pointed policy question.

And how did The Obamassiah answer? He brushed her off (never answering her question) and then condescended to her by calling her “sweetie.”

The feminists at Shakesville are not happy. Especially since this is not the first time Barry has done this. Recently.

Realizing that he’d just exercised poor judgment (again) — he quickly sort-of-apologized to the female reporter:

“One was you didn’t get your question answered and I apologize…. Second apology is for using the word ’sweetie.’ That’s a bad habit of mine. I do it sometimes with all kinds of people. I mean no disrespect and so I am duly chastened on that front.”

I wonder if by “all kinds of people” he means men, too. I’d love to see the video of Barry addressing a man as “sweetie”. Or by “all kinds of people” did he really mean “just women”.

Now, imagine if every time a black male news reporter asked Hillary or Sen. McCain a question, and they brushed him off with, “Hold on one second, boy…”

And then tried to play it off as simply a “bad habit”.

  1. An empty answer from an empty suit.

    Par for the course!

  2. His penchant for bad judgement is perhaps his greatest ability.

  4. The language PC police are at it again, I guess men cannot call women “sweetie” without getting the language PC police Nazis riled up.

If John McCain called a female reporter “sweetie” think of the outrage… I’m already getting a head ache.

  5. “Sweetie” vs. “Boy”, obviously a white woman’s comparison. One could mistake “sweetie” for an antiquated, albeit innapropriate reference to women, a reference that not every woman takes offense to. Find one black man who would mistake the meaning of “boy”, and not find it offensive. They are hardly comparable. Hillary did not win the nomination…get over it and move on. The Barry-bashing as a misogynist is a little dare I say “Bitchy”, don’t you think?
