Robert Byrd Talking About Ted Kennedy

Cassy Fiano, writing at Wizbang, thinks that this video of sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV) is heartbreaking.

I disagree with her. Rather, I agree with the commenter who wrote:

Robert Byrd, on the other hand, is a complete embarrassment to the establishment that is the Senate and is a testament to the stunning gullibility of the people who vote for him.

How secure does it make you feel to see this sobbing and senile old man with so much power in the Senate?

Me? Not so much.

  1. Yeah, I agree. It was embarrassing. Also embarrassing are some of the comments by his supporters. For example, Chris Dodd’s comment that he would hate to be Kennedy’s tumor because Kennedy will whip it’s butt or some nonsense.

  2. Like Ted Kennedy apparently said, he’s getting kind of tired of hearing his eulogy already.

  3. Byrd’s behavior is/was horrendous.
Even if I shared his admiration/love for the Admiral of the Chappaquidick, which I don’t, I would never publicly demean myself in such a fashion.
    His brain is Jell-O.

  4. Oh well, so much for the classy response to Kennedy’s illness. A man breaks down while he speaks about his stricken friend of 40 years and you ridicule the emotion.

  5. You are conservative idiots. Why is mourning someone’s fatal illness embarrassing? Typical bush lovers- no heart. Ugh- sorry I stumbled on this sorry website.

  6. OH my god when I heard this old relic, who should have retired decades ago, it was just sad. Not because of his emotion, but because this guy is still in office and can barely talk or make sense. There really needs to be an age limit on elected office. Anyone with a brain knows this Bird character is only still in office for his vote, which the politically correct left can use and manipulate, cause he is too damn old to know what the hell he is voting for. Give me a break, we should be ashamed of ourselves for having such weak leaders. What happened to the tough men who founded this nation? This current bunch in washington are a pathetic distant shadow of that kind of leader. The kind of leader that would sign a document knowing it meant their death if we had lost the revolutionary war. Hell the leaders we have now would sell their grandma if it meant a few more stock points.

And of course it is a SHAME about Kennedy and his illness. I wish death on NOBODY…but come on, Kennedy has been a total disgrace to this country. He is a killer for one, he voted to give illegal’s amnesty AND social security benefits to illegal’s, he voted to allow late term abortions, he always votes for more social spending on welfare benefits or any other politically correct insanity with no rules or regulations to the people getting this money, he voted against the flag burning amendment, he voted against english as the official language, on and on I could go about this guy. He is a pathetic disgrace as far as I am concerned. It is disgraceful that he has been in office all these decades. My God people wake up.! Now if you are a hard core liberal then of course this guy is your messiah. He is the point leader in the most socially liberal insane ideas anyone could dream up. If it is politcally correct and stomps on the values of our grandparents, then he is all for it. I for one will be glad when he no longer soils Washington with his presence. I DO hope he beats this, but for the love of God please let his disgraceful reign in office be over.

  7. Hey Davis…. bye.!! Were ALL sorry you stumbled on this website too. Just like a liberal, you have no substance and can’t actually argue FOR anything so you just call conservatives names…..classic.!

  8. Preston, I don’t ridicule the emotion, just the foolish and grandiose manner in which Sen.”Sheets” Byrd displayed it. Being a blubbering old fool in public is disgusting. He could at least act like he knew what it was like to have a pair.
